I think that your buddy with his buttons A and B is missing and what is also absent as counter argument is the total power available per BG-team.
Button A was the 5xFireball from one mage, Button B was 1xFireball from five mages.

Take a WSG, 10 people each. Make them mages. Team A has one guy with hack A. Team B has a multiboxer with five mages.
Team A has 14 simultaneous fireballs and the firepower of 14 mages.
Team B has 10 simultaneous fireballs and the firepower of 10 mages.

The hypothetical hack alters the power balance in between teams, the multiboxer does not.
that is basicly what i was trying to explain, they still see it as a cheat though :s

Which brings me to another fact, the people complaining about multiboxers having an unfair advantage can't possible have tried multiboxing ever. If they had ever tried it, they would know the advantage just isn't there..
People who are unable or unwilling to understand things will always just hate them instead. Because that is much easier than actually looking at an issue objectively or even experiencing it yourself. A multiboxer is doing something that they either cannot do, or do not want to do, or are afraid to attempt, and that bothers them. I am sure that a few of them are cash-constrained, but they are VERY few (how many poor people, who are so tight on cash that another $15 a month would be a strain, are paying a monthly subscription for WoW? Yeah, thought so). Most are limited by other factors. Mommy won't buy junior another subscription, and she'd probably ground him just for asking. Wifey/Girlfriend isn't about to let you do something silly like buy more accounts, you're lucky she lets you play as it is! Or what happens to most of them-- they actually believe that it's way too hard and they are afraid to try it, but they'll never admit that. So they insist that they aren't doing it because they're better than you somehow.

I know a lot of them are reading this forum, and I'm hoping they recognize themselves in one of the above examples. It should really get them nice and pissed off in time for their next forum rant.
QFT - and there's another angle to look at as well. Most of the whining and sniveling is from PvP - they don't really care about MBing PvE, in fact it's surprising how many people pop up and admit they dual box by alt tabbing.

The issue is, and this is from long experience in the PvP trenches, is that a MB team upsets the stale, old tactics and the usual by-rote-race-to-the-boss boredom that is BGs these days. They want their marks, and their honor, NOW, with none of this silly "fighting other characters" nonsense, and certainly none of this "get together as a group and fight a MB team" silliness. That's taking time out of my honor per hour, and I CANNOT have that!

I mean, c'mon, we're talking about a playerbase that PREFERS that people can run AV for weeks and never fight the opposing faction.

A MB team blows the usual laziness out of the water. I've run so many WSGs my eyes bleed at the thought, and all I can remember is how so many of those matches started with silence before the gate opened, and the ONLY communication after was complaining and bitching and attacking others for not following their orders. Throw a MB team into a match where the opposing side barely acknowledges each other, and expect them to fight together to take the MB team down? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. It's far easier to sit there and snivel, and then go to the General WoW forum and cry like a big fucking baby.

I KNOW this is the root of it, I spend far too long dealing with this as a solo PvPer, and SEEING what happened the few times we got a MB team on the other side - complete pandemonium as the players basically saw the MB team and flopped on the floor in tears. Just like the majority of players do when they think there's a premade.

That's why there's so much butthurt, IMHO. You make them actually PVP and TALK to other players, and they just can't have that. Oh no. Honor is serious business, and the minute they'd need to take to wipe the MB team is one minute longer towards their HONOR GOALS and per hour ratio is SHOT.

    Seriously. It's THAT stupid.

Yes, but you stopped on the 1x5 vs 5x1 point, where nobody can argue that that is not 5.
My point is that nobody can argue that A leads to 50 fire balls in WSG, while B leads to 10. =]

I'm considering making your text a macro, but i guees it'd be to much text in one time. Nevertheless, i couldn't possibly have agreed more with you. Your text was really spot-on and I hope the "haters" don't take it as an insult.
