My favorite to date is the guy who told me it was illegal to have more than one account at all... I thought "Gee, and Blizzard has the character transfer service why then?"

I would have just told him how ironic it is then that Blizzard employees receive 3 free subscriptions as part of their benefits. All Bliz employees can multibox free of charge.

Khadgar is pretty good.. haven't got a lot of hate tells.. though I've
been having some fun with them. I'd tell them that I'm rather
dissappointed with their 'hax/no life/cheater' comments and expect
something better than that. Not suprisingly they can't come up
with anything better hehe

Seems like the level of hate varries greatly by server. I play on Lothar Horde along with with a couple of people boxing on Alliance. We seem to agree that most people see us and think it's cool, or think we're bots at first but have no problem with it once we explain what we're doing. I've always thought it had something to do with the age of the server, Lothar being a release server.

Be a shame for those who want to ask about how to do it and those who are just nice but Ill be changing the automatic reply to something like "If you are interested in multiboxing you can find out more at dual-boxing.com"

* Anyone know if GMs can bypass chat mods. Not seeing a contact from a GM would be a BAD thing :S

About hearing from GMs - anyone know if they communicate on a chat level that will bypass addons?

I remember when SpamMeNot (or maybe some ignore all addon) came out and someone asked a similar question. It was confirmed GMs could still get in touch but I cant remember if that was built into the addon specifically or whether GM chat over-rode any restrictions.

I would suspect the latter but youd really want to be sure before using this.

While I take pains to make sure few people see me multiboxing (instance runs most of the time, questing separately or at odd hours, etc) some people do figure it out. Almost all of them have had positive things to say to me. They will ask "are you controlling all of them?" because they see this group with the same guild tag and similar names standing somewhere. And when I say yes most of them will reply "haha that's awesome" or "lol that's pretty cool." One person told me he had tried dual boxing and I think that seeing my little army run around had gotten him to think of trying it again.

Then again I do not have any of the general chat channels open, because on my server they are filled with 99% useless stupid crap. It's like a 24/7 retard convention. So if there are people calling me out in public chat channels, I don't see it. It probably doesn't happen because usually when they start up in chat, someone eventually whispers you to ask if you can see what they're saying about you, and I've never had that happen. But again, I stay off of people's radar. My guildmates know that I multibox, and while one of them doesn't seem to like it, he admits that he's impressed. The rest think it's pretty cool and they joke about it whenever I'm on. Someone will log in and say "wow, lots of people on tonight." Then someone else responds "not really, 18 of them are Tonuss."

I was playing a massive amount this weekend, so I got some exposure that I normally don't get. While questing, I mostly got decent, respectful questions. I had one jerk insist that I was doing something wrong, but even he was not all that bad. The problem is that it is definitely picking up on the servers that haven't flat out been forced to accept multiboxing.
