    Default 4 locks and a priest

    I have been reading that 4 locks and a priest can be quite good in BG and arenas (especially if Fel Guard Build).

    But how would 4 locks and a priest work in Instances. It would seem that without a tank there is no way you could play this combo. I have seen 5x shammy movies where they can solo heroics, but is it possible for 4 locks and a priest to do that as well?

    I'm leveling the same comp right now, but from what I've heard VW's just die too fast. I went ahead and rolled the group anyway because of the new WotLK talents and also because some of them really beef up your pets. For example there's a single point talent that adds 20% health and threat for your VW. Could that be enough to do future heroics? Maybe, maybe not.

    Void health is an issues at 70 but more so holding aggro. I could heal them with my priest but when the dots started ticking the mobs would go after me.

    You should be fine if you outgear/outlevel the instances. Once you get into Steamvaults/Shattered Halls, things just hit so hard that you'll be tearing your hair out instead of enjoying things. IMO, they're great if you don't try to instance. Just do PVP for gear and some of the easier instances for rep stuff. You'll lose out on badge gear but the PVP gear should be fine for everything else.

    I was going to roll 4x lock 1x priest, but I decided to toss a lock for a paladin. Here's my reasoning:

    For PvE: Prot Pally, Holy Priest
    For PvP: Holy Pally, Shadow Priest

    That way you don't lose a slot to a tank.

    PvE: 4x lock, 1x priest cannot do heroics (afaik) or they'll be very very hard
    PvE: 1x paladin, 3x lock, 1 priest can do almost any heroic (afaik)

    PvP: 4x lock, 1x priest will melt faces, do doubts here
    PvP: 1x paladin, 3x lock, 1x priest will melt faces slightly less, but melt them none the less


    In exchange for 1 warlock you gain:
    KINGS +10% stats (hp most importantly) which means your 11k hps just became 12.1k hps, or +>5000 hp across the party.
    AURAS non-pushback spell casting w/ conc, and other auras are useful too
    Oh-crap button -- bubble
    Plate-wearer to take brunt of the focus fire
    If you are horde-- AOE silence
    A ranged stun (HoJ)

    4x Hunters + Shaman || 4x Warlocks + Priest
    4x Mages || 4x priests|| 4-Melees

    Four locks are overkill, do it for the badges when you can, summon another toon in to tank when needed and kick it out when your done.

    I find the slsl build easy to quickly get the four locks their amp'ed out and trinketed dots up I have one lock that goes heavier into demonology to get a the felguard and he health funnels rather than drain life. This gives you very quick turnover and very fast kills. Your primarily using the priest to keep the locks tapped up and tossing direct heals at the pets casually. No issue with threat.

    Also having the raid gear for the 10% damage -> health helps.
