    Default Best performance boost evar...!

    ...Upgrading from 2GB to 4GB on my XPS M1730/Vista 32-bit == win.

I quad. No more constant stuttering in town and having my tail lag off. The improvement is noticeable. Going into town with 2GB was pain upon pain.

The only possible improvement now would be going to a desktop where I could run a different HD for each character... or a $1100 upgrade to an 8800M GT 1GB... except that WoW doesn't benefit from SLI.

I hope I have some similar improvement. I ordered another 4gb today to bring my total up to 8. Currently running 5 accounts on my 1 computer using Maximizer to run it on one screen. Hopefully it'll bring up my FPS in Org to over 20.

    Hope all goes well!

5 accounts on vista takes just over 2gb of ram. On XP it's slightly less but still over 2gb, going from 4 to 8 won't do a thing for you unless the 64 bit OS really sucks THAT bad at memory allocation... if that's the case, I'm glad to lose 800mb of ram to my 32bit os.

Vista itself takes up 1gb or ram. I got stuck on a Vista training course and they didn't have enough ram while we were playing around with VPC's.... it was pretty lol. Anyway good to hear things are looking up

    @ Narezza

So long as you have a good video card, 4GB (or 8GB if you have Vista 64-bit) really really helps with the lag/stuttering in high population places like Org. When i first started 5-boxing on my comp, I did tests with 2/4/8GB and the performance difference (both lag/frame rate/subjective viewing) was dramatically improved when you throw even 4GB into the mix.

If you're ever on Stonemaul-US, look up Dhayroc or if you're ever on Twisting Nether-US, I play under Dhakhir.

    Best of luck!

Getting a new graphics wont help much.

Next best improvement yeh can do is disabling aero after that is start disabling other thing yeh don't need.

If yeh have multiple installations of wow yeh wont see an improvement in cities if yeh move em off to separate hard drives
only in zoning into an instance.

vista32 and xp can only use 4 gigs of memory

vista needs 2 gigs where as xp only 1 gig ( without paging anything out to the hard drive).

Currently 5boxing on 1 computer with 2 gigs ram and Vista, Should I consider upgrading to 4 gigs?

Absolutely. By far the best upgrade you can make for 5-boxing is to ensure you have 4GB of RAM. It will cut the lag from memory getting paged to the disk to nothing almost everywhere but Shatt. Plus it's so cheap these days, why not (assuming you're running like DDR2 800).

Just checked my OS to see if it was a 32 bit Vista and it is, Max ram it can handle is 4 gigs, so i just ordered a 2 gig kit (2x1 gig)
Was only about $35.00. Can't wait for it to get here so I can post the results of the upgrade ^^
