So this low level character joined our guild the other day, seemed ok. I had quested a bit with him on one of my little experiemental solo characters. Then the other day I was on my 3 shamen. They are named similar and are all trolls. After dinging 3 times in a row and accidently spamming guild chat one time with a 3x /gchat, he asked me about multiboxing. I was talking about how I was very casually leveling these three but that someday it would be cool to use them for pvp and arenas. He logs out. A few minutes later, he whispers me back as a new level 1 troll shaman with a name matching my naming convention. He said he wanted to make a 2v2 team with me. I told him that was a long way down the road and I might never get there.

    My concerns are this:
    1) His naming convention and class/race choices make him seem like I might be playing his toon, I don't want any ban issues. I have stayed the heck away from his character so far, but I suppose it's only a matter of time before he levels up and finds me.
    2) I really don't want anyone else in a party with these 3, I have them set up for just me to play at this point
    3) I can't really force him to change his name, so bleh
    4) I certainly don't want to pvp with anyone else

So, anyone else have problems like this? This all happened a few minutes after I had a little 'fan club' issue in Durotar where nice little noobs watched me die to like 12 razormanes. It wasn't my day to MB, apparently.

On a positive MB note for yesterday, I did 3 box Scholomance (really dragged my lock through with my Hunter and Priest, but hey it was their first time together).

I dont think you need be worried, even if you grouped with this char.

It will be evident that this player is playing from a different location than you (due to ip address).

If they analysed your casting, they will notice that the three you play all do things at roughly the same time - this guy won't be casting at the same time.
Team: Feral Druid, 3 Ele Shaman, 1 Resto Shaman

    Gimp Team: 4 paladins(13) and a DK(80)

I can't be mad at him, I got 2 groups recently. I had my shammies trying to farm the necklace from SM:Cath (7int, 7stam, 7 spi). I walked out of UC and a 40's druid buffed me, all of me. I know he had to use CTRL-Tab, cause my alts are all on top of each other and he did it quickly (I was in wolf form). So I thought, really talented, nice druid, and I thanked him twice. He said no problem, not just NP, which is what I do. Damn, it must be a sign. I told him I was going to farm SM and asked if he wanted come. He did and we rocked hard. Yeah, 6 people, all lvl 40's in cath is too much, but still it went quick. I never got the necklace in 4 runs, but they only took like 1 hour or so total. He mentioned he wanted to PVP with me. That would rock, dedicated healer and DPS person. We could watch each others back with my healing and his stealth, the possibilities are endless. Final result, great times had by all.

I went to Maraudon to just get exp (4 alts were 46.1 and one was 46.9). I grouped up with 3 others and we rocked the house, orange and purple. I don't remember the exact time to do it, but it was fast, no downtime, constant DPS and movement. I will miss the ability to see upper content with more people than needed. I wish they would let us 10 man stuff that only needs 5 man so lower geared people can at least see the content. I don't care about quests, I don't care about drops. I just want have fun and play with people. Anyway, it was a great time and picked up the Gizlock shield and the Landslide mace.

So, I can imagine a person just mooching off you, but try to have a positive outlook on it. It might turn out you have a great time. Good luck.

Tell him there is no 4v4 bracket so either he'll have to multibox or not play with you.

If Blizzard really cared about that then the 14,000 variants of Legolas would have been banned a long time ago.

Yeah I was 44 and he was 45, I wan't worried about exp since most mobs are 38-40 in there. It was for the necklace for me. He was just tagging along. I gave him all the cloth and he gave me all the white loot. It would and does kill exp if you raid, but I didn't care about exp. From our strength we could have crushed Uldaman and Zul'Farrak, but I wanted to do the quests in there, so we split up. Hopefully we can either PVP or do those places after I do the quests. I just like grouping alot.

It'd be cool with me tbqh. I'd like to have a bunch of copycats following my team around. Would make for some really interesting encounters for our enemies.

LOL, reminds me of when I was in my 40's in Tanaris...lots of WTF's, etc. in Gadget so I put on a light show with CL and a star and chatted with people. One guy seemed particularly interested so I chatted longer with him and then he wanted me to roll 4 new toons on another server and him 1 new toon and all level together. I explained I like playing 5 and had my existing 70's to support my 5's too so I wasn't interested. Since then he's said hi a few time, even from his 70 and I'd go help him finish up group quests if he ever asked on his lower level toon that I first met.

I think people just want to be part of something cool because they can't afford it or do it themselves.

Imitation is the finest form of flattery. Just think of it as he looks up to you.
