Default Really simple questions regarding chat?

I know how to turn off chat channels but have found that all that does is make them disappear from my chat box. If I turn off general and type /1 it will still show me talking in general.

Is it possible to mute the slaves so they cannot talk in chat channels? That way I don't have to worry about overrides, etc.? It's not a keybinding thing is it?

I'd love to be selective and allow them to talk when I want them to. But I still need them to be able to open a chat line to do emotes, etc.

    Just curious.

I use clone keys on my mac and just stop transmitting when I want to chat.

you can type /leave general or etc.
but that wont solve the trying to broadcast issue. you can add / to your DNP list

Change where your enter key or talk key is bound on the alts. Not sure if you can do it with your setup, but the easiest way I can think of is have enter to only talk with your main, and shift+enter to talk with everyone. You should be able to bind talk with your alts to F12 or something that you don't use which just requires an extra key press when you want to emote with everyone.

This is why I love AHK.
