Class Composition -- A Dilemma

Finally! I have my boxes, monitors, mice, keyboards, and Keyclones set up! Everything is good to go, including macros (just have to swap out spells, but everything is working!)

Now I am stuck with the problem of choosing the classes that I would like to play. I plan on leveling to 70, and at that point just attaining good gear so that I can PVP (BG's and World PVP). To my understanding, the best gear available for PvP purposes comes from the Arenas? I hope that is not the case because then I (from what I have read from others posts) limits my class selection (so that I would be able to survive in the arena).

These are the class choices that are most appealing to me:

• 4x Warlocks, 1x Priest
• 4x Shaman, 1x Paladin
• 5x Hunter

To my understanding, the first group is to "squishy" for Arena, and I assume the last group would not survive in the Arena because of range issues. I will base my class selection upon how I can attain the best/good PvP gear, and so far it is my idea that only comes from Arena, thus limiting me to the first group. I would like to hear everone elses opinions as well!

Your second group definitely has the most arena potential. However, you can certainly get decent pvp gear and never set foot in an arena (or just lose a bunch of games every week for some arena gear too).

I guess it'll depend how you define "good" pvp gear, and what you want to pvp with it. If you want decent pvp gear so you can bg, I would say just get the honor gear and you'll be set.

Where do I recognize these classes from...?

Do what I do -- roll them all, play them until level 20 or so, then see which playstyle suits you the most.

The only "proven" class in arenas is Shaman, but that doesn't mean an inventive player won't find a way to make other classes work. 1x priest / 4x warlock was ALL the rage when I first started multiboxing -- in fact, shamans were scoffed at because they "had no aoe" and weren't thought to be as good as mages or locks in BGs. Now it's all about the shaman, but that doesn't mean that other classes are impossible -- if you're adventurous, go for your gut feeling and play the class/playstyle you like

As far as I know, I was the first person to roll 1x paladin / 4x shaman -- and look how popular it is now. Multiboxing is still in its infancy -- a whole world of opportunities is open to those who try.

Besides, at this point who knows what WoTLK will bring and which class combo will be "OP" in the expansion.

You can turn in badges of justice for some of the Arena Gear, but if you want the best of the best, you'll have to Arena for it.

Humm, you may want to put things into perspective. From your OP, it seems that you haven't "arena" much ;-) (and even if you have ....) , by the time you level your toons and get them some PvP gear so they can survive the arena, and then the arena gear itself; by that time WotLK is likely to be here, and that gear (like every other 70 end game gear) is not going to be worth all that much ...

If you really enjoy PvPing with 5 toons, then go for it - otherwise no sure if it is worth it.

4 shamies and a pally is a very powerful group - go protection on the pally while leveling up, change to holy for arenas at 70
