    ***Notice of Account Closure***

    Account Name: *************
    Offense: Unapproved Third Party Software

A third party program is any file or program that is not a part of the World of Warcraft software, but is used to gain an advantage in the game, such as increasing your movement speed or teleporting from one place to another beyond what is allowed by game design. It also includes any programs that obtain information from the game that is not normally available to the regular player or that transmit or modify any of the game files. Normally, this classification does not include UI modifications, except those UIs that require an external application to function.

Any external applications that are used in conjunction with World of Warcraft can cause quite a few unwanted side effects. Some of the major possible results of the use of third party programs can be instability of the game to the point that a player "crashes" from the game quite often. External programs can also be used to transmit viruses, spyware, and other unwanted programs into a player's computer. Third party programs can also be used to obtain information from the player's computer, such as account, password, and personal information.

If a player is found to have used such a program, he/she may:

    * Be temporarily suspended from the game
    * Have further action taken, up to and including account closure, based on the intent of the program

Access to the World of Warcraft account ********, and any World of Warcraft account associated with the payment information you have provided, has been permanently disabled. The account has been identified as having used unauthorized game modifications and thus is in violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. The recurring subscription on the account has been disabled to prevent further charges.

Please review the World of Warcraft Terms of Use at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html, which you accepted when you installed World of Warcraft and established the account(s). Section 2, Paragraph C details the limitations of game play modifications and use of any third-party or “packet sniffing” software. In addition, Section 3, Paragraph C, parts iii and iv restrict the use of any hack, scripting or macroing software which obtains information from World of Warcraft to gain a competitive advantage over other players.

Furthermore, any activities not intended by game design which affect the economy, the client, player characters or the world itself have a tremendous negative impact on the potential enjoyment for all players. The effects of these activities take many forms including a bloated game economy, server instability, and allowing unauthorized access to accounts, computers, and player data.

As a result, the account(s) will no longer be accessible and will not be reopened under any circumstances.

Any disputes or questions concerning this account action can only be addressed by the World of Warcraft Account Administration department. To learn more about how Account Administration is able to assist you, please visit us at http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/21505.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and respecting our position and all statutes within the World of Warcraft Terms of Use.

Don't panic. If all the accounts were in your name and you don't use anything illegal everything should work out in the end Be positive

edit: Might want to take out the account name

Do you use a Nostromo, G15, Saitek Cyborg, X-Keys, etc?

Basically, are you running any peripherals such as keyboard or mouse that also have driver software to allow you to add keybindings to buttons on them that could be used to create macros and if so, did you create any macros with pauses or delays in them?

My basic response to people getting banned is they did do it, but I have had my main account hacked and banned a while back and got it restored so I do understand there are times people get unlucky. Since you're part of the community here, let's try to work out what may have happened but if you're holding back on things and know what you did wrong then.......well, I'll stay nice for now

your account name is also displayed in the middle, getting banned (accidently) must really suck and I hope they fix it.

    1. How does anyone have modified Windows code? That very dubious software aside, I don't think that will have anything to do with it or you'd have likely seen things earlier

    2. Will likely find that account has been hacked but makes no real sense that the others haven't been as well if you got keylogged.

I'd suggest going and changing all the passwords on your other accounts on a different computer than you have been playing on, then write blizzard a nice email explaining things, asking them to look into any strange ip changes and what you can do to prove the account is yours or if they can check if it's been stripped, etc and waiting it out (and/or getting another account at the same time)

You will probably have to resign yourself to the fact that account is gone and decide how you want to proceed from here, but given only 1/5 got banned I think we can safely deduce it wasn't keyclone that caused it or all 5 would have got dropped.

One final thought, given how long the investigations usually take...was the banned account your first created account? And did you ever play it anywhere but on your own pc?

Ouch - my guys are 69 too - the thought of one of them getting banned is... not nice.

I hope you get it restored quickly.

As to KeyClone I've been using it since day 1. I don't hide my multiboxing, I'm quite happy to go around doing what I need to in Shatt/Org etc with all 5 guys. I know for a fact I've been reported at least twice - I've never been banned (so far).

So I honestly don't think it's KeyClone (ok, I admit, I checked Hotmail again just then - but that's me being paranoid).

Most likely they've made a mistake. I say this because one of my accounts was recently banned from the forums for 24 hours for "racist posting". As a partner of a mixed marriage (my wife is as black as I am pasty white) I was massively offended by this. Blizzard refused - refused point blank - to tell me why the account was temporarily banned, and only in their last Email admitted that the reason listed for it was a mistake, but refused still to tell me what post they looked in to.

Below is the final conversation between Blizzard and I.

    ========

    Hello Andrew,

We do apologize for the suspension reason having been mislabeled; however, it has been iterated in the past that the suspension was determined to have been the appropriate action. Please be advised that future emails regarding this matter may go unanswered.

-The World of Warcraft Community Team

Subject: RE: Support - World of Warcraft - Account Action Inquiry

    Hello,

This does not answer my questions. Frankly, I am very upset - not only have I been falsely accused of making racist remarks - and I note that Blizzard has yet to apologize for that, despite admitting that the reason listed for the ban was a mistake - but now you are saying that you refuse to provide me the evidence that would support the ban in the first place.

I have been playing this game and using those forums since Beta days now, and have never received so much as a warning, either in game or on the forums for my conduct. Now that Blizzard is asserting that I've violated the forum conduct rules in some presumably non-specific way (having withdrawn the accusations of racism) how am I supposed to alter my own conduct?

I refer below to the Email sent to me on Sunday 29 June:
"Hello Andrew, The reason was marked incorrectly. The suspension was actually for trolling the forums. -The World of Warcraft Community Team"

I make particular note that while the allegations of racism were withdrawn by Blizzard, no apology was forthcoming for the mistake.

I have been quite happy with Blizzards customer service in this past, so I hope you will understand that (i) an apology on the part of the Blizzard team responsible would be in order there and (ii) I cannot be reasonably expected to accept a forum ban or any form of action against me, when Blizzard refuses to state why that action was taken.

I look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely,

    Andrew.

You got to level 69 in 2 weeks? Bravo. You must not sleep. :P

On that note, you leveling so quickly might raise a red flag for powerleveling -- the "3rd party modifications" email is often sent when people have purchased powerleveling services (that typically utilize botting programs).

If you honestly have done nothing wrong, and all of the accounts are in your name, a 2nd investigation will quickly clear you of all fault. Also, be sure to double-check your computer for any malicious programs like keyloggers -- those can also trigger an automatic ban and must be taken VERY seriously. You may unknowingly have a compromised computer.
