Anyone use voice to play WoW?
Currently 5 Boxing 5 Protection Paladins on Whisperwind Alliance
The Power of Five!!! ( short video )
why would I do that when I have 10 fingers that the ladies love. 8o
The last thing the enemy will see is my Muzzle Flash of Freedom!
That was pretty interesting. A nice way of doing things.
There were however a few scary moments where the slave didn't really seem to respond to the healing requests.
All in all it worked quite well.
Wonder how it would work for 5 boxing.
Does anyone know the software used for this? Is it dragon dictate or is there something else?
Team: Feral Druid, 3 Ele Shaman, 1 Resto Shaman

i used voice commander for a week or so when i first started 2-boxing, i used the voice commands to control my priest and controlled the warlock normally, it worked most of the time but you have to set up your commands to be longer so it works better, and they can't sound like each other at all, like i would use "holy crap heal" for greater heals, and "sweet mamma jamma" for flash heals and i dont remember what i used for shields, and renew and such...all in all i couldn't get it to work all the time so i stopped using it and got keyclone :P but voice commander was only 10 bucks so not bad for the price at all.
I had been working on a voice recognition program that let you chat without typing. It could be easily adapted to map any voice command to any key press. Perhaps I should dig it back out and finish it up.
I've been using voice recognition for about 5-6 months now, I use Dragon Naturally Speaking Prefered Edition. And when its setup properly its about 95-99% accurate, but it does have some stupid moments where its just completely wrong. Most notibly thinking I said "Totemic Recall" during the middle of a boss fight - it didn't end well for me!
The recognition between my character names is usually 99% accurate. On the very rare occasion it will mistake a character name. But when my character names as so similar it can be forgiven. I would simply say "Heal Torrla" or "Heal Torrba" or "Heal Torrma" and everyone would cast a heal on that specific character.
I use it for such things are:
Grounding Totems
Saying "Crit" instead of "Elemental Mastery"
Trinket 1 / Trinket 2
All Earth / Fire Elementals
... or I can even specify which character I want to use an elemental such as "Earth Elemental Torrla", "Fire Elemental Torrma"
Heroism Thorra
I can even have a specific character use a healing / mana potion.
Every single spell / ability is controlable by a voice command if I so wish, and in many cases down to the individual character.
Basically I say a spoken command and Dragon sends the assigned key press. Eg..Healing potions for the characters are assigned CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+1 /2 /3 /4 /5. There is no way I can remember each key combination for the spells and abilities, and with Dragon there is no need to, its a simple voice command.
EDIT: Change version of Dragon to Prefered Edition
Torrla & the Torr'etts - Torrta, Torrba, Torrma, Thorra- Inspiring Presence - Thanks to RAF, presenting Moppsy & Floppsy now performing with the Amazing Torr'etts
Unless you are a girl I would say that you have got 11 fingers that the ladies love, but you just use 10 of them for typing.Originally Posted by 'entoptic',index.php?page=Thread&postID=84961#post 84961
*giggles*
This has piqued my curiosity (well, it's another excuse to waste money on gadgetry, so why wouldn't it?!)....I've been using voice recognition for about 5-6 months now,
I couldn't find the "pro" version any more. They only seem to offer a Preferred or a Standard edition.
I wonder if the standard edition can tranlsate speech into keystrokes the way you describe above, or if it's purely a dictation device....
It is an interesting ideaIf I were ever so inclined to use something like this, I would probably use it for those spells I don't use very often, but need in important circumstances. or follow :P

Is there any other programs that are like dragon would love to test this out instead of mashing a few of my repetive keys![]()
