Default Organised chaos? Paladin, druid, warlock, priest, shaman and a hunter.

I've decided to shun the usual 5 shaman/4 shaman and a pally route. (What can I say I'm a masochist).

Instead I've decided to level 3 characters Ihave at 30-40 to meet up with my hunter, warlock, shaman 70's.

    My levelling group is

Paladin (specced retribution, currently 38), Druid (feral, currently 40), Priest (Shadow, currently 34 nearly 35)

I'll probably swap the druid to either resto or balance so I dont have 2 melee whilst levelling.

What I have is a very flexible group of 70s. With at least 3 of them being able to play multiple roles, which brings a headache all of it's own.

My aims are modest amount of pvp - (BG's only no arena). Mainly 5 manning, with the aim of doing heroics.

I figure the paladin has to be setup as a tank. The druid I would have as either balance or Resto, My shaman would either be elemental or resto. My priest would either be holy or shadow. The warlock would give the best synergy with the shadow priest, but I could swap out either the priest or the warlock for my hunter.

I thought I would seek opinions on what combination and specs you would set this up as for the best chance of completing some heroics. I think the only given is that the paladin will be tank

I'll comment on two of your options as healer:

Priest - My priest is one of my favorite characters because she's just such a powerful multi-boxing healer. Her mana regen is off the charts, her single target heals are massive, but AOE healing is where she shines. Most of the time I'm not even worried about her mana and if someone gets damaged i'll just use Prayer of healing and not even bother with micro managing healing. Of course I don't spam Prayer of Healing to do MT healing, but for any splash AOE dmg she's so easy to use compared to a paladin or shaman.

Paladin - Now I run heroics now with a paladin tank and paladin healer (gearing my healing pally up with tanking gear). I LOVE flash of light spam. I'll just bind flash of light to my 'open fire' button and when i start combat she'll just keep healing my MT. If he gets low I'll use her bigger Holy Light heal or just throw a few quick heals out with my shamans (or in your case whichever 'backup' healer class you'll use). I can't tell you how nice it is to do this. Her mana usage is on par with my DPS, so she's not going out of mana, she's more or less my fire and forget FoL spam MT healer. For AOE spalsh dmg i'll whip my mouse over to that screen and 'mouseover' heal the guys that need it. Pain in the ass, but it's just one of the downfalls of a paladin healer.

    Shaman - Haven't spec'd a shaman to resto for multiboxing so I won't comment.

Druid - Never played one past 20.

    I'm currently running 1 x Prot Paladin, 1 x Rest Shaman, 1 x Affliction Warlock, 1 x Fire Mage and 1 x Shadow Priest.

I'd love to mix in a few of my 70's..but the group order thing just kills me. :S

Shaman restoration healin in heroics is awesome, chain healing is just so damn good these days. I would use the priest as shadow for mana/health battery stuff and the shaman to spam chain healing. Druid ... hard to decide on, I would probably use it as Moonkin.

Nixi, you have skill in circle of healing, why wouldn't use that.
Found your armory link on another forum. Thinking about doing that for my priest.

In 5 mans Prayer of healing is nicer than COH unless i'm on the move with my group. I can just hit the button once and it heals a substantial amount. COH really shines in a raid setup because you can target other groups with it. If I wanted to use COH in a 5 man situation, i'd have to hit the button a few times to get the same amount of healing a POH would do, plus COH only has an 18 yard range (not exactly sure but i know it's smaller than POH)

I had improved divine spirit with my priest until I started raiding with her. COH is my favorite spell when raiding, but in 5 mans I stick to Prayer of Healing.

Nixi if you don't mind could you post me the spec build that you used for your priest non raid (5 man/heroics). I probably won't be crazy like you and try to mb a 10 man, if i do raid with the priest i will probably do it with 9 other people.
