Default GOAL: 2-Box in Guild's 25-Man Raids (Main: Rogue, Alt: War?Sham? Help me!)

    Hello all,

I have decided to start dualboxing once again. My past experience with dualboxing includes leveling a mage and shaman to around level 15. I was getting pretty damn good at it at the time, however, it's been forever. Now, I currently have a 70 Rogue (My main; an essential DPS in my Guild's 25-mans), a 70 Dps/OT Warrior (31/30/0 - 2H DPS Spec -- Difficult to dualbox I imagine due to timing slam, have to go fury if anything.. maybe prot), 54 Shaman** thinking this would be best to use as my 2-box, and 32 Mage.

I use Keyclone, so on and so forth. I'd probably set up a whitlist type deal, and logically set em up. I think healing + DPS would be pretty amazing. I could always make sure I was alive. DPS'ing as a Rogue is so painfully simple, and I think I could be great as support. Elemental would be nice too... so i wouldnt be relied on so much >> I would most likely start as Elemental to get the hang of it, and just DPS.. then move to healing when I was good at it.

Has anyone here done anything similar to this? If I become very talented at 2boxing I might move to Prot Warrior + Resto Shaman, and be a one man band =)

I have 2 boxed Mags, Gruuls, and Rage in Hyjal(25 mans on farm in my guild). I think the real key is to have 2 classes that do the same thing. I dual box a resto Druid and a Fire Mage, and it is a pain in the ass. Mostly they just put me on the MT and I HOT him up and DPS on my mage. But it does Gimp my DPS and healing. I think if you had 2 chars that did the same job(healing or DPS) it makes the 25 mans more manageable.

I think with your rogue and DPS warr, they would be in the same postion, and you could setup your macros to do viable DPS. I think the best thing to do is get into farmed content and see where you are on the damage meters. That should make your case for 2 spots.

Well, here's the deal: I did an enhancement shammy and mage together very very well before... 1 ranged.. 1 melee. It's really not that difficult to do. Utilizing a whitelist of keys that are passed over with some that are not, I can effectively spam lightning bolt and mutilate (sinister strike, depending on what I'll be that day: mutilate or cmobat swords). I don't really see how that'd be difficult to do. Dual-boxing in this fashion is not for everyone.. it takes a lot of multitasking.

Is there anyone around that wouldn't mind talking to me about doing something in this fashion? I've played with a few that were freakin' amazing.. this one prot pally + holy priest.. awesome stuff.

The reason I say 2 that do the same job is positioning and movement. For instance on Gruuls you will need to avoid the caveins on both chars. You can watch one screen and move them together. Also with Leo, Al'ar, void Reaver... If you are just standing still then ya you can do any 2 classes, but if you want some combo that you can take into any 25 man, then you need to be doing the same thing from the same postion. That's just from my experience.

Well, Gruuls wouldn't be a big deal. I could just keep my Shaman and Rogue together, avoiding cave-in's as they come... then beginning cast sequence, etc. As far as Leo, I would just have to make sure that I run away from him in the direction that my Shaman is standing.. then hitting my follow macro asap. Void Reaver.. I'd just have to treat Shammy as melee, and use his resto offspec to help heal my rogue, and shammy up =)

See.. in certain situations, it wouldn't be ideal. But it's definitely do-able. I would just love to read up on doing 2 sep. classes.. like a guide somewhere or something.

Thinking about it more, the last thing I think anyone in these forums would say is something isn't possible. Go for whatever you think works for you. But I think you may have to end up writing the guide.

I have tri-boxed a hunter, elem shaman, and shadow priest in Gruuls, Mag, SSC, Kara, and ZA. The classes are actually pretty easy to coordinate with the shadow priest as main and macro'd steady shot/kill command for hunter and lightning/chain lightning for shaman.

Just about any combo works if you have the patience to make it work.

    Freakin' awesome.

I have an n52 that I currently do not use. I would love to start utilizing it though, in some way.
