10 Boxing Karazhan (video)

I've been tracking this post since it first showed up and like many of you, it really has me thinking. First, big congrats Nixi, you are about to single-handedly increase Blizzard's subscribers by a million as a bunch of "me-too-ers" purchase five more (or nine more) accounts and attempt to duplicate your accomplishment.

The really tempting thing for me is that I'm just so well set up to do this. I have 13 level 70s on my accounts, almost all of them are in Kara gear or better (mainly due to months of arena losses and the freepurple gear), and have another 5 at level 62.5. Surely with 18 70s I could come up with any class combo that would possibly be needed to do 10-mans.

I really should hold off till I see how many 10-mans will be in WotLK.... shouldn't I?

Impressive piece of work. Coming up with a whole 10-person-raid, so many different classes and the skill to controll all of them to clear Karazhan is top-notch. I would love to see a high quality video on vimeo soon. :thumbsup:

Great job! I never did any dual-boxing myself, but it sounds really awesome.

Some things that might help you perhaps:

Spec your second paladin into (improved) Sanctity Aura for a HUGE threat boost for your tank (you'll have to put them in the same group though). You said a few times that threat was an issue for your warlock, so this could help you a lot. A possible talent build would be:

But there's a lot of room for change. I don't think you really need Precision on your offtank (although for the bear boss in ZA it's a great asset). Furthermore, I don't know if you use judgements, but the Improved Seal of the Crusader will add a lot of damage for all your casters as well.

Did I mention earlier in the post I'm lazy? Lol if i didn't i'll have to make a point to say it. The first night i wiped over and over at curator it's because i was too lazy to port my shamans back to respec. Distributing all 41 talent points 4 times wasn't something I felt like doing that late at night. Then on my first several attempts at Romulo and Jul I never bothered to change my earthshock macro until i wiped like 6+ times.

I'm kind of focusing on two tasks right now and they are taking lots of time away from each other. My 10 man raid and my 4 sm Arena team. Lately I've just been spending most of my grinding hours on the shamans getting honor and equipment. THey went from less than 400 spell dmg a couple weeks ago to 700+. When I have downtime at the office I can manage to sneak in some game time, but I can only open 4 accounts. I feel like I should maximize my free time by playing all 4 accounts and just using the shamans. The past weeknd I was like, "i NEED to get the s2 mace for my paladins, so i just took 6 toons into the battlerounds. I got ALOT of hate for hogging that much man-power on the team and we lost quite a bit. My shamans were sturdier, and they killed alot, but what was killing us was my mobility with that many guys. I know, i should just take the two pallys and find a big ass warrior to heal.

I think the reason Attumen can't be 5-man by Pally + 4Shamans is there needs to be a decurse in the encounter.

I'm too lazy to decurse when I 10 man it. :P

I actually use BOP quite a lot when I 5 man. I have a slightly more robust macro that includes a mouseover and there was a post on these forums awhile back about adding [target=targettarget,help,raid] in there so that you won't BOP yourself. Even with that in there for some strange reason I still BOP myself just as much as the guys that need it. When I 5 box I only use a small percentage of each classes utility, when I 10 box I use even less. A lot of the reason is limited key space. I did buy an x-keys, and I spent 3-4 hours trying to set up a configuration, but the next time I fired up the raid group I scrapped it after feeling really strange using it. I haven't given myself a chance to get used to it. But when I was setting it up I was like, "okay, gonna use everything everyone has got!" and I -easily- ran outta button space.

This sounds like some really good advice. Tbh I don't know how to solo any of my characters with the exception of my Shaman and Warrior. The warrior isn't even on the Multi-boxing radar anymore once I leveled my first paladin up to replace her. 10 toons is just too much to care about and I just get too lazy to do the micromanaging each one requires. I mean, I can't tell you much about half the talent trees that my guys can spec into. Plus just keeping the mana-potion injectors, mad alch potions (all consumables) is a task in and of itself. Not to mention the transmutes, cloth, etc. *dizzy*

Lately to cool the threat of my lead lock I just keep her imp out instead of sac'ing it and i'm hitting the soulshatter more liberally (as opposed to staring at omen I'll just mash it when i feel she's getting hot.) .It's worked out pretty well.

I didn't even scratch the bear boss. I just found it so difficult to pull him. When i was playing the encounter over in my head I was like "damn this should be easy. it's just tank and spank". But from the get-go he's hitting my tanks so damn hard and when he charges I have to play the 'spin the pally around game'. I have another plan to take him out, i'm gonna try it after I do Kara and post videos for those bosses, so I don't think i'll get another chance to do him for a few days.

why don't you take your 10 to wsg and just sit there. when they kill you don't rez at the healer just run away from the rez (so they can't camp you) no one will report you afk and the battle will only be like 5 mins long. Would that work?

Lol, i might give it a go.

Another reason I haven't done much 5+ in the Bg's is because my internet connection seems to get unstable running that many toons. Battlegrounds in particular are prone to my guys disconnecting. I'm thinking about getting another phone line so I can have two adsl lines, but I'm not sure if that's really the source of the problem. I have a small suspicion it's my network and they way they are hooked up to the internet.

I had also thought about trying to hold the other teams flag and try to 'one shot' their guys as they try to steal it.

That was actually one of the things in my mind pushing me towards getting a few more accounts and 10-boxing. In WSG I would obviously fail in, but it would be a quick 10 marks. Right now with my 5-man team it is a fail too, but it fails 5 "real-life" players too so I don't feel comfortable doing it. Oh, and I wouldn't just sit there, as that is against the Blizzard TOS, but even with me trying with a 10-man tank moving around as one it wouldn't take long to lose the BG.

AV wouldn't be bad at all if I make sure my 10 guys were all in groups supposed to rush the RH. I could probably solo Drek with a 10-man set-up once the towers were capped.

Think I'd still have to 5-man EOTS and AB though, 10-manning would be an insta-lose for too many other folks - I'd feel bad.

Getting 5 X the honor when 5 boxing has made the BGs doable for me now - I never really could stand to do them single-boxing (way, way too little gain for the time invested), but I kind of drool at getting 10 X the benefit at once, at least in two of the BGs.
