Default High ASCII characters in a toon's name...

    I'm talking about ô ö ò etc....

I was under the impression that this is now allowed - Blizz removed that condition from their naming policy late last year.

However last night I was reported and foced to go through a name change (which they screwed up the first time - they just added xy to the end of my hunters names).

Should I persue it with account admin?

    Cheers,
    S

from my exp (played since release) if someone takes the time to report you inevitably your name will need to be changed... one would think they would have opted to not allow any high ascii characters from being entered into the character creation screen (because some are and some aren't) - specifically † (alt 0134) for example... many that can be entered into the pick a name screen error on invalid character when you try to create... just another annoyance we have to live with from the blizzard communisim

Well, the term moneyshot is a term used for something in porno, so I'm not surpised and doubt it was because of the characters.

LoL - should have wikipedia'd it before I chose it:

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Jump to: navigation, search
A money shot is a provocative, sensational or memorable sequence in a film, on which the film's commercial performance is perceived to depend[1].

    [edit] Origin
The term originates from mainstream feature filmmakers, who used the term "money shot" as slang for the image that costs the most money to produce;[2]. For example, in an action thriller, an expensive special effects sequence of a dam bursting might be called the "money shot" of the film.

    Also called a "money-making" shot[3].

A money shot has also been used as another name for a cum shot in pornographic films. The shot was so named because if a male actor could not provide this shot he would not be paid. It can also refer to the camera shot of expression on the actor's face as he ejaculates, which is seen often in pornography.

Oh well, I ended up renaming them Multishôtz, Multishötz, Multishòtz, etc...seems more appropraite for a multi boxer anyway! :P

    This.

The restriction on extended ASCII characters was indeed removed from the ToU -- try looking for it. You won't find it.

Your name was reported because of offensive content. I remember, back in the day before paid name changes, people would create an entry in urban dictionary sayign that their WoW character name was offensive so that they could get a name change. Of course, back then, the name change wasn't randomly assigned.

It's up to the individual GM who investigates the reports to determine whether or not you are indeed using an offensive name. It doesn't matter where the ORIGIN of the name is from -- if it is, by common knowledge, offensive... the GM can still force you to change it.

Or if it includes the word "the".

    /sigh

    First character name: "TheFuzz"

Forced to change 6 months later.
"oh shit, lookout it's The Fuzz!"

That name had so much win...
