Default Greetings! Got some questions I haven't been able to answer after 3 days of reading here

Generally, I am pretty savvy when it comes to tinkering with something like multiboxing. After just putting 2 instances side by side and bouncing between the 2, I decided Keyclone was the next essential step in my progress.
Now, I'm not that familiar with macros in WoW, but I am learning- and the most important thing I have found so far is that jsut about any single action can be macroed if I find the right commands to type, so I am not worried there.
It's setting up Keyclone that has me stumped. I checked out the Keyclone site and the tutorial here, and they both basically get Keyclone onto your instances of WoW, and then...you're kind of on your own, and that's where my tinkering ability conflicts with my desire not to mess something up.
Running 2 starter druids, one a level 8 I had shelved months ago, and a new level one tonight, I immediately found that every single keystroke was sent, to the point that I was saying things with both toons. ANother glitch was that if both toons stopped, and were facing different directions, and I hit the W key to run, they ran off in different directions.
I haven't come across something here that says "to keep from getting really screwed up, set up KC like this...
Now I know y'all don't wanna hand hold and spoon feed anyone, but would this be where I use KC ability to exclude or specifically include only certain keystrokes? For example, a simple fix would be letting only the number keys that correspond to toolbar actions pass through for now, but I know it would mean spending every play session realizing I need more and more keys to pass through and fixing it.

For movement, I am thinking I can set the slave to different movement keys. But what about the basic commands like /p or /s /g etc....

I'm always paranoid about setting up new stuff on my machine- as it is, I have set resolution to 800 by 600 and need to adjust it every time I am running only one toon...I don't want logging in and playing to feel like work.

Can someone give me some help on BASIC setup steps, assuming that I have only been interested in and trying this out for 3 days? I have read everything I could find that said "Read here before you ask" and "new boxers read this" . But maybe the assumption is that I know more than I do...

By the way, this is an awesome website, it's nice to see a community truly working together and not working to out-do the next guy in a negative way. Thanks all!

    AC

I don't actually use Keyclone so I may not be much help but here are a few tips anyway.

    x Use /follow macros
x Put WSAD on the Do Not Pass thingo
x Hit pause on Keyclone when you need to talk.

    This is pretty much it.

Leave your movement keys bound as normal in all clients (want this so you can still move independently if a GM comes talk to you) and place w, a, s, d, /, <enter>, r, <esc> in your dnp list. This way, when you move with wasd your followers won't see the press but you can still use the arrow keys to move them if you need to at any time (eg positioing after a fight starts) but can aslo still use wasd to move a character by clicking in it's window.

If you need to talk, just hit pause...it's annoying but it's easier than placing bunches of keys in the dnp.

Don't forget too that you can also use the override key to bypass the dnp list for when you want to do things like synchronized /dance

Keyclone, Tatsy and Knytestorme, thanks. I guess sometimes I think myself out of the box when i don't need to. I'll be adding those keys to the do not pass section.
Keyclone-if I read that post you linked correctly, it will set up keyclone so that when I run it, I can then launch the wow clients from it. This would be cool, meaning I don't have to link KC ot the 2 open windows anymore right?

Thanks again and Keyclone- I'm amazed at how you spend so much time here personally supporting your product. In today's market it's great to see someone taking such an interest in providsing service, when most places seem to think that need ends once the buyer has the product in hand.

    G'morning Atrox,

no problem. i had so much fun when i started boxing, i personally have a bit of a blast helping people get into it.
when i help people get set up and can hear the excitement as things fall into place...
as they nuke their first target with 5 fireballs for the first time...

    it's just too cool

This describes exactly what I felt as my 5 Shammies opened their eyes for the first time, locked target on some poor mob and lightning bolted it into the next zone.

It also describes to how helpful KeyClone was with helping me out too.
...for when one toon just isn't enough...

I think I would have to be able to afford 5 accounts before I could lightning bolt or fireball anything with 5 toons...but it looks and sounds so cool. Was playin around yesterday with 2 shammies and WOW is that fun. 2 Druids is cool too. I also managed to drag a level 17 priest through the deadmines with my 70 mage, and survive.

Multiboxing is defintely a trip. I spend too much time trying to find macros now. I still haven't got the hang of writing my own, so if I think its "macroable" I am here or on the blizzard forums looking, it's like an addiction on top of an addiction.

One thing I still don't quite understand, and this might be noobish, but how/what exactly is focus as opposed to "target". ( I think the assumption here is that everyone already knows what it is) I was under the impression it was your mouseover target, but that is of course, mouseover. If I have my main targetted, and then assist, my clone is now targetting the mains mob. How does focus come into it? I really need to know this if I start playing multi-mages or toons with CC like maybe rogues.

well.. one thing you could do to experience 5x bolts... create 3 test accounts. they won't cost anything, and you'll only be slightly limited (no trading, email, or AH).

you cannot go over 20... but it would feed your alt-aholism while also feeding the megalomania
