What level did you do the RFD Escort Quest?

New to horde, never ran these instances so I don't know them very well. My guys started RFD at 36, tried this escort quest and got ownd. Thought, ok, couple more runs and Ill have some more gear and be 37 and try again. Got a little further, even potted and still ran out of mana and got ownd again, never saw the 40 elite that thottbot describes, just wave after wave of ads then fail. So, what level did you do this at?

I got low on mana also (in my theorycraft). So I prepared before for it. I got the 4 mana/5 enchanting oil. I got 5/5 imporoved mana/healing totems on 3 chars. I got the 550 food (stam/spi). I got a regular mana pot (the square looking one). I couldn't cast much, so I just melee'd and shocked. I put down a fire (cooking). I put down my stoneskin, strength, (no stoneclaws), searing, healing and mana and grounding totems. I tried to focus on one mob and keep my lightning globes up. I did it at 38. I have mostly eagle and owl gear. I used 1H and shield with windfury on weapon. Not sure of what really can help, just try to get as many buffs as you can and hope for the best.

finished this at 38, but it wasn't pretty. I had consumables and still ran oom.

All the toons where laying there dead and the spawns where mingling around, I noticed in chat the guy said something to the effect of, we're almost there, hold them off for one more minute. He continued to channel, and the mobs where not attacking him, just milling around, so I decided to just stay and watch and see what happened. A few moments later, he emotes that its done, and I get the notification that all have successfully completed it and the brazier appears with the question mark. So I released and ran back, cleared all the respawns back to the room and picked up the rings. Not the way I wanted to finish it, but I'll take it.

Edit: I could NOT get that damn escort quest macro to work that's been posted here. Anyone have one that works?

I cleared the place a few days ago at 35 and figured I might as well attempt the escort on my way out. I kept up with things until I started to run out of mana on my dps, then got overwhelmed.

As I was wiping, I accidentally looted a corpse and got to see a BoE blue for a second before my main died. I waited for a few minutes hoping they would despawn so I could hit the SS on my priest and grab it, but instead they just kept coming and I got to watch all of the corpses disappear. I ran back in to at least kill the boss that spawned and after I finished with him, I noticed there was still one corpse sitting under the huge pile of mobs left over. I bubbled and ran in to find my blue still sitting there. I am now 50g richer

I've done the escort quest as early as 39 on my mage+pally team (AoE nerfs the shit out of that encounter). Did it on my melee shammies at 40 or 41. Pro Tip: Kill the casters first. When the last boss spawns, drop disease cleansing totem or prepare to dispel a bunch.

I just did this quest last night at level 40 on all 5 shamans (all ele specced). I figured "well with all guys at level 40 and somewhat-decent gear, I should be able to handle this easy", but I still went OOM on all 5 right as the last 2 groups spawned (plus the boss). Funny enough, I stayed there and none of the mobs attacked the quest giver, he finished, I got the quest completed dialog, then I ran back from gy and killed the last few mobs and turned in the quest...the ring was a pretty big upgrade so I'm glad it worked out...I don't remember EVER completing this quest even when I was single boxing running the instance with others. Maybe if you have 4 melee and a healer it would be easier because you wouldn't have to worry about mana, but I even tried using windfury and meleeing a lot of the guys and I still went OOM pretty fast. I think I'm at a weird "in between" spot though because right now at level 40 (well, 41 now) I run OOM really fast on my guys, 2 pulls in an instance and I have to drink, its ridiculous). I have about 2k mana per shaman right now.
