Multibox + Pitbull..dont work together

Hi

as above. When i disabled Multoboxer V2 - 05 on my main..then pitbull will work. But if i enabled both as a Addon..i always get this merrormessage..

LibRockConfig-1.0: Bad return from function

"args" for `PitBull'. Expected "table", got

"string" ("@cache").

Its the latest Version from both..pitbull and Multiboxer. Without Multiboxer ..the Addon pitbull still working. But together ..no way..Anybody can help me?

I am not sure if I had the exact problem as yours. But as discussed on the wowace forums from time to time, this kind of problem persists because authors of different addons use different versions of libraries.

Whenever you have a similar problem, you could either wait for the author to update his libraries, or you could check the versions of your embedded libraries. And then replace the older version with the newer version to ensure that they are not loaded simultaneously. (The design of Ace is that identical libraries are not loaded twice thus saving memory space)

So all in all, you could keep using Pitbull which is highly configurable.

I was using pitbull for like a day before i got multiboxer, (thankfully) and it works just fine, but I am now unable to make any changes to the pitbull settings (like making my 5x hunters pet bars smaller) without an error.

Where do I find the embedded libraries? somewhere in the wtf folder?

SYMPTOM
Unable to use anything related to GUI / commands such as the configuration screen

REASON
Conflicting versions of LibRockConfig-1.0 are found

Multiboxerv2 has not been updated for some time and the latest version is 2.0.5
Pitbull, however was updated recently (continuously).

By comparing the versions of LibRockConfig-1.0:
MB2 = #Rev: 57328
Pitbull =#Rev: 68198

SOLUTION
1. Delete the MultiBoxer\libs\LibRockConfig-1.0 folder in Multiboxer
2. Copy the Pitbull\libs\LibRockConfig-1.0 folder in Pitbull
3. Paste it into MultiBoxer\libs\

Done.

This problem cannot be solved forever. As long as you use ACE add-ons and as long as some authors do not update their add-ons, this problem will happen.

HOWEVER
This problem happens on the WoW client for my alternate characters only. My main was fine. The reason is that I use LOADS of ACE add-ons and certain add-ons embedded certain libraries / mechanism to disable loading of different versions of libraries. As such, you may be using too few add-ons??? :huh: :huh:

I have never encountered this problem using external libraries. Check out JavaWowUpdater. It will download all the libraries for you (config option) so they are always up to date. I haven't played in 2 days so I will jump in and check this change real quick. brb

Edit: Everything is working fine. I have pitbull and Multiboxer with the pitbull addin.

Note that the libraries will show up as separate addons when using externals but it really makes things easier.

Settings I use for Jwowupdater.
Uncheck - no externals
Check - split addons
Check - update if libraries changed
Check - auto embeds handling
The other options are personal preference
