Default Do ppl use ./castsequence or am I an idiot?

Now, don't ask Fleecy cos he will just say I'm an idiot. Be that as it may...

I've seen a lot of people saying they can't use all their spells or it's too hard to use different classes and get them doing stuff well but I, so far, haven't had any issues with multi-class groups or using all my spells/shots when using macros bound to the same key on all my girls that goes something like ...

Girl1Macro: /castsequence reset=combat/target Hunter's Mark, Concussive Shot, Steady Shot, Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot
Girl2Macro: /castsequence reset=combat/target Concussive Shot, Steady Shot, Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot
Girl3Macro: /castsequence reset=combat/target Viper Sting, Arcane Shot, Concussive Shot, Steady shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot

    etc...

Those aren't the actual macros just an example (for a start 4 of my girls are only 18 atm so no steady shot). I offset conscussive shot to maximise the possibility of stunning the mob for longer. The locks, pally and mages I have in a mixed-class group have similar "stacked" macros that overlap certain spells on the same button cast thing. Is this not a useful idea or is there a better way of doing it? What do others do? Or is Fleecy right? inch:

Sounds good. Just remember to do test your timings so you're not clipping shots -- and you gotta do that every time you change spec/weapon speed.

Excellent application of cast sequence macros for multiple toons. I made a similar one for "CC", but only one toon casts a spell at a time. I have 2 paladins, so each one has a HoJ in the sequence, then i have entangling roots, hibernate, sheep, etc etc. It needs some refinement though.

I have a 5x hunter team, so I will build on what you have there, and add 2 more toons. Currently I have each spell on a separate hotkey, but im always doing the same sequence anyway, why press more than 1 button and waste hotbar space if you don't have to? I need to do this to my locks too, immolate, corruption, shadowbolt seems like a good combo...

Thanks I thought I was being silly - but you got me thinking about my macros so now I'm busy editing them lol

Since I had them open and you showed interest - the actual macros are...(remember most of these girls are under 30)

Hunter1lvl63: /castsequence reset=combat/target Hunter's Mark, Serpent Sting, Concussive Shot, Steady Shot, Aimed Shot, Arcane Shot
Hunter2lvl18: /castsequence reset=combat/target Arcane Shot, Concussive Shot, Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot
Hunter3lvl18: /castsequence reset=combat/target Concussive Shot, Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot
Hunter4lvl18: /castsequence reset=combat/target Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot, Concussive Shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot
Hunter5lvl18: /castsequence reset=combat/target Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot, Concussive Shot, Arcane Shot

Hunter2's first Arcane Shot is replaced by Hunter's Mark for questing without Hunter1 and I have 6 shots in there for a reason but for the life of me I can't remember what it is at the time of typing this up. All the macros have #showtooltip at the top of them and teh questionmark icon so the buttons change with the shots.

My other mixed girls macros are...

    Ally
PallyTanklvl28: <I appear to have deleted this one's macro file by accident but it was something like the one below with a couple of extras>
Warlock1lvl28: /castsequence reset=combat/target Curse of Weakness, Corruption, Searing Pain, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Drain Soul
Warlock2lvl29: /castsequence reset=combat/target Curse of Agony, Corruption, Searing Pain, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Drain Soul

    Horde
PallyTank: /castsequence reset=combat/target Seal of the Crusader, Judgement, Seal of Righteousness
Warlock: /castsequence reset=combat/target Curse of Agony, Corruption, Searing Pain, Shadow Bolt, Drain Soul
Mage: /castsequence reset=combat/target Frostbolt, Fireball, Arcane Missiles, Fire Blast

These last two are intending to have 2 more chars added to them now I have 2 more accounts... Not sure what I will make those yet tho - maybe my level 70 horde chars will get dusted off of the Horde group and a couple of high level ally ones for the Ally mixed group

castsequence macros rock. I've used them extensively on my lock since I found out about them, and never looked back.

The direct damage castsequences are probably the easiest to macro up, but i think a little extra thought can yield ways of having multiple classes working together.

One thing - And bear in mind I'm not sure about this.

Your last couple of examples your mage is casting arcane missiles which is a channeled spell. If you were pressing the key for the next spell then I believe that it will stop the channeling and do the next spell, which may be a waste of mana on the mage if you dont wait for the channeling to finish (But then means your other chars wont be doing daamge while waiting).

    Gimp Team: 4 paladins(13) and a DK(80)

You can avoid the channeling interrupt by starting the macro with /stopmacro [channeling]

Actually you've pointed out a typo... the arcane missles was supposed to go off at the same time as drainsoul... I wondered at the time why that wasn't working as intended LOL thanks!!

and thanks for the /stopmacro thing too - I'm in the process of re-reading all the macro stuff I can find as I'm sure I can do my macros better so it won't matter which girl I log on to make up a group or which girl is leader of the group and all the macros will still work.... 8| wow I do have big ideas
