SooI've recently entered SP and Underbog and having a laugh ^^ I never used to like those two, maybe its because I don't like dark damp rooms in general :S nevertheless I've been blasting my way through (now nearly lvl 65) and enjoying all the new loot ^^
It is the first time I've encountered mobs that use charm on you, except for the Blood furnace boss (usually targets a clone), but the twist now being that my main, at times gets charmed.
I have definitely noticed a strange thing happening now, and am positive this isn't down to me messing up, keyclone, octopus or my macros (although I think a temporary solution lies within the macros).
I'll briefly describe what happens.
Totem drops (tremor in rotation to avoid long charm/fear spells), and engage mobs.
Wait a few seconds whilst my pally builds a little agro and begin electrifying the mobs
at some point the unavoidable seems to happen and I get charmed.. I immediately switch to my second dps macro that makes sure my clones kill their target before assisting me (just in case I get charmed and target one of my clones).
what happens now? all hell breaks loose :S
dps drops to 0 apart from my pally meleeing.. so my shammies end up just healing me until I can be arsed to make a simple target random/dps on my clones.
Why does dps drop to 0? well my macros stop working.. whenever I use them they select a dead target.. even though my main is obviously targeting an active mob. Something seems to happen at this point and I can only speculate on what that is..
First I will be investigating if /assist and [target=Braintarget] have the same problem but for now I will list what I believe could be the main cause of this.
The act of a Brain getting charmed temporarily places the mobs as [help] thus blocking them from being targeted using the [target=Braintarget, harm] condition. (this may be an argument for using /assist - needs testing - additional. using /assist with /cast [harm] LB could also suffer from this confusion/bug as I think it relies on the [harm] condition).
I'm not sure if this affect us in PvP too.
anyways I'll be testing it a little more tonight - this may be a bug that noone appart from mboxers might notice ^^ seeing as we are the only ones doing this so regularly
I will be reporting my findings and making a bug report
anyone else noticed this before?
Btw, I'm not talking about charm, as in seduced, I mean them actually controlling you. I'm surprised most of you haven't encountered this problem when going through SL on the mind control boss.. The only thing I can speculate on that is that somehow maybe that boss was coded properly or he temporarily resets whilst remaining in combat. I dunno.. purely guess work at this point in time
