Default Following in PVP non-grouped scenarios?

I've never been much of a PvP'er, but I'm curious to know how people are using follow commands in some of the PvP areas? My focus follow macros nor my long follow the brain macros will work unless all the toons are in a group. Can you join those type PvP things in groups already or is there yet another way of doing the follow the leader trick?

If you join as a group, you will most likely get BG leader also. Go into the raid tab and move your team into the same group. If you don't get leader, then the best way for follow is to use a focus macro for your main character.

OK, I figured this out on my own tonight after Drakkun's comments. I use /assist focus commands as my primary means of doing everything instead of assisting by party number or name. However, when you're not in a group, the normal focus commands that I was using in my macros were not working.

However, the focus command will work if you use the /target command first or just click on the toon you want as the focus and then set focus (e.g. /target killer and then /focus Killer). Then all of the other commands seem to work out OK. I also use the mod Sticky Focus, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.
