    Default RFC, 4xshaman lvl 15

    Hi all,

I just dinged 15 and thought lets hit RFC and clear the damn thing, well wrong thinking...again.

I tend to wipe when i encounter 3 or more mobs, i start my attacks with lighting bolt, pull out Stoneclaw totem, Stoneskin totem, and 4 searing totems. I can manage the first two mobs, but the 3 and 4th are chewing on my shamans. Whats normal for this setup, 3 dps and one healer? And is there any good macro for a totem rotation, so i always have one stoneclaw totem up. Or you guys suggest to go in with a healer or tank...

    Gosh, i so suck

Are you healing a lot or just a little? Having 5 of course is better than 4 people. If you don't feel bad or annoyed, ask for a random person to come. Pulling is important. Pull them to you, so you can get off LB's before they even get to you. And use shocks. They are instant so can't be slowed (interrupted). I use food on everyone to give a tiny boost (stam/spi). I would try the 550 stuff if you can use it. For the groups when there are 4-5 mobs. Yeah, that is annoying. Try to kill the caster first (cause no grounding to soak up casting). I have earthshocks setup for 4 people. Alt 1,3 go first, then 2, then 4, then main. Using:
    /castsequence [target=focus-target] reset=7 Earth Shock, , , , , ,
    /castsequence [target=focus-target] reset=7 , Earth Shock, , , , ,
    /castsequence [target=focus-target] reset=7 , , Earth Shock, , , ,
You should be able to completely shutdown their casting. Just absorb the void, he won't do much. That leaves 2-3 melee. That is where stoneclaws come in handy. I would vote for 3 stoneclaws, 1 stoneskin (add in 1 strength if 5 people). You should be able to kill the caster and then turn to an add before you need to heal at all. I use mobs to decide who needs healing. I use:
    /castsequence [target=focus-target, help] reset=combat/12 Lesser Healing Wave, , , , Lesser Healing Wave
    /castsequence [target=focus-target-target] reset=combat/12 Lesser Healing Wave, , , , Lesser Healing Wave
It lets me heal whoever I pick but mostly whoever has aggro. The person I pick is incase I heal a person outside of my group (BG). I use that on a staggered setup. Alt 2-3 heal together (has mostly resto talents), 4-5 together (mostly casters), and then main (since usually stunned/sapped/feared/etc). I use lesser healing waves since they are faster and usually prevent overhealing (since smaller).

Don't give up. It takes practice. It isn't all glitz and glamour. But when you realize you don't have to ask for a group, you have no ninja's, no people that leave the party, no CC breaking, etc, you realize you did a good thing. I focus on macros and defense. Other people might be different. Just find a strategy that works for you. Good luck.

Default you are missing a man

with 4 you are missing DPS the 5th man would put out or at 80% capacity.
I suggest dropping as many stoneclaw as you can.
I suggest the two button approach of one button does 100% dps and a neighboring button does 3 dps/1heal or 2dps and 2 heal.
the stoneclaw last 15 seconds so hopefully you can burn most of it down in 15 seconds.
button 1 would have all doing LB
button 2 has 2 or 3 doing LB and another doing healing wave on focus-target-target or something like that. if you go with two doing heals have the other healer do chain heals

examples of healer button on the healer(s)
    sham3: /cast [target=focus-target-target,noharm] healing wave; [target=player] chain heal
    sham4: /cast [target=focus-target-target,noharm] [target=player] chain heal

spam back and forth between 100% dps and partial heals as needed.

I wanted my heals and spells timed, so in the past I used dummy commands, !Attack, !Auto Shot, etc. But it got old and filled up my macros. But if you just leave a blank spot where the command would go, the macro does nothing, hense a dummy command.
The ,'s in the commands at the end above are so you can mash the macro and it won't reset until you tell it to (combat/time). The ,'s at the start are so you can map a key to all alts (CTRL-F1 just an example) and all them try to do one macro. For some of them, they do stuff, for others, they get skipped so you don't over do stuff (4 earthshocks are a waste). Same with the heals. 4 people healing is WAY to much, and you get no DPS out of it. So I have 2 heal and rest DPS on a rotation. Hope that helps explain the idea.

I wiped RFC sooooooo many times its not funny..I'm still a newb, I had to l2p... and I have a pally to tank too, heh. Trial and error for me 100%

when up against 3 i would drop stoneclaw and searing totems... Button mash Lightning Bolt till the target was dead, then earthshock/melee (Flametounge weapon) the other 2. I just went stupid with DPS and made the first kill ASAP. I also used all shamans to cast heal spells at the same time, not just one or 2.

It's sloppy but honestly I mostly Melee'd right up through RFC, WC, SFK and RFK. As for weapons, If I could learn to use it I would equip it, eventually walking out of RFC w/4 blue daggers for the shamans. SM is where I finally started using DPS spells.

Not sure if if my post is helpful but this is what worked for me and it's been cruise control since.

What are you supposed to do when you have multiple mobs attacking? I play 4 shamans on a private server( can't afford 4 retail accs) and they are lvl 30 now. I've tried almost every instance since RFC at lvl 14 and i failed big time on each one of them. Every time i pull more then 1 mob i wipe, I even replaced one shammy with a paladin to get a decent tank. Sure it's a lil' easier but still, 2 mobs or 3 = a huge qipe for me.

And ofc, Since it's a private server i don't have Stoneskin totem because the quest was bugged and Healing Stream totem doesn't stack either.
    Sry lost my subject there.

I have major issues with this because if i pull 2 mobs i have, either 2 mobs attacking one player (which equals sick dmg and not enough healing) OR 2 mobs attackign each target, and then i wipe because i cannot come up with any macro to heal 2 players simultaniously.

    Question:
What tactic do you use, i mean more in detail, what's your first step?(Put out totems ofc, but how do you pull and so on)
If i have 2 mobs attacking each player, how can i keep them both healed?

    I survived, atleast...well not whole RFC, i wiped, clearing it would be too good But thanks to ElectronDF and this macro;

    /castsequence [target=focus-target-target] reset=combat/12 Lesser Healing Wave, , , , Lesser Healing Wave

Ive managed to keep 3 shamans dpsing, while one was healing the guy who had aggro on him.
Thanks, and for those who are annoyed as hell, like me, keep trying guys, its most satisfying when you kill those things with your own group

Playing on private servers is against Blizzard ToS, which means it's against discussion here. Cut all that out.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

Was late last night, still have problems with the bigger pulls. I decided and lets go crazy, will buy an xtra copy of WoW today, and add one more Shammy or pally to my team, think it will be a shammy since i HATE playing on paladins....got a 70 and wont play on it . Think i really need one dps more....

[edit]Since i play on one monitor, my screen now is split:

    Char1 Char2 Char3
    MAIN CHAR

    Does anyone have a nice viewable screen setup, working on a 22" inch, 1680*1050 [/EDIT}
