Default Probably more complicated than it's worth but an idea.

I've been thinking about how I would 3 box my 3 70's that are all of different types.

I started thinking about organising their abilities based on cast time, then thought of trying to organise their abilities in a complementary fashion.

Example I have a hunter and warlock and a shaman.

If the hunter was to trigger a concussive shot, it's fair to say I'm trying to slow the mob down, so dropping an earth bind on the shaman (or a frost shock), and a curse of exhaustion on the lock would seem to be quite complementary.

All of these are effectively instant cast.

It then got me thinking that we as a group might be able to draw up reference tables for the ranged classes.

Perhaps one where it's based on cast time for dps, and then one where the abilities would complement each other.

I haven't played all classes but - for example

    mana drain| Silencing |slowing |Stuns |crowd control

    Hunter : Viper Sting| Silencing shot (MM)| Concussive shot| Scattershot |

Warlock: Drain mana |Spell lock (felhunter)/curse of tongues (slow casting)| FG Intercept

    Mage: - Counterpsell? frostbolt/ Frost nova N/A

We could come up with categories for classifying the spells into (I've tried a few) and I think a combination of two tables would make it easier to plan out how you would work different classes together?

Like I said - probably too complicated, but maybe not for such a smart bunch of folks as those that frequent here.

[EDIT - my table format got stuffed up, if this makes the post unreadable I'll see if i can format it better]

What about having you hunter as your main. that way you can control him better (he can be a clicker). Have your lock and sham as the followers. Just link the dots to a cast sequence (having the sham cast lighting bolt) and shadow bolt/lightning. Make the sham elem and lock destro.

I'm kind of a masochist and figured I want to bring in as many of the abilities of each character as possible.

I guess the only real reason to try this would be for pvp, thus I was thinking it would be good to try and categorise the abilities into similar areas.

I suppose it is a bad idea as we all have different aims, be it pvp , pve, we all play in different ways, but I just thought it would be nice to have a lookup table that could be used to craft up macros across characters.

I suppose having a dot cast sequence on the lock, matched by an auto/steady shot macro on the hunter, matched by a lightning bolt, chain lightning macro sequenceon the shaman.

Then have separate keys to drop my common totem configs and just click for traps (and have some healing keys to trigger heals on each of the three or a chain heal).

I don't think your 3 wont be that bad. You just really need to sit down and bang against it. You have 2 casters which is good. Just have to do the trail and error.

well you have a mixed breed so pvp is going to be what you make it. You can either sit there and cast and hopefully you burn down others before they burn you down or go another route. Que up your dots/stings/frost shock and semi kite them around. You'll probably have more success just casting though. Its hard to reacquire target facing while kiting. So this is your dilema, play with it and let us know which you decide on.
