Default Do you solo-play your clones?

I run Pala, Priest, Mage, Mage, Mage.

The entire time I was levelling, I never once played solo on the priest or the mages. Since hitting 70 I've favoured gearing the priest, as I figured the better healing I had, the better my instance runs would go. Lately I've been taking her into kara and ZA with guildies / friends, and today I even logged on to one of the mages on my main computer :O

This can become a pain, as almost all of the macros and spells need to be dragged back into position, and I never really feel like my fingers learn the positioning of the spells for solo play. Switching to solo play is easy enough, its the opposite which gets me. I always manage to forget one important macro.

Does anyone have a more elegant solution? ( I am running from separate WoW folders if that makes a difference. 4 on the clone pc and 1 on the main)

Then pretty much everything is converted over.
For a start, the macros I use for multiboxing are no good to me as (for example) a priest solo playing in a raid. Also there is something which is stored server-side to do with button positioning, as often a random macro from the clone machine will be picked out that seems to be the closest match to the name of a macro which was on the same button position for solo play.

I roam around Outlands and gank folks on my Rogue. Usually in Terrokar Forest. Probably move up when I get better gear.

All of your config setting around in your:

    Warcraft/WTF/Account/

    Folder.

    Mine is:
    Computer 1 = Account1
    Computer 2 = Account2
    Comptuer 3 = Account3
    etc...

So if I want to play Account2 on Compter 1..

I go to computer 2's /WTF/Account2 folder, and copy it to Computer 1's /WTF/ folder. Then pretty much everything is converted over. If that is a confusing mess, you probably shouldn't mess with your config files. (and back everything up before you screw with it!)
I find it much easier to just have a separate WoW installed folder for each "login" type instead of copying/pasting folders each time I want to play a different style.
WoW1 through WoW5 are my team logins, with macros set up to 5-box.
WoW6 is my solo install, ready for any single character from any of my 5 accounts to play without all the previous macros.
    Ex-WoW 5-boxer.
    Currently playing:
    Akama [Empire of Orlando]
    Zandantilus - 85 Shaman, Teebow - 85 Paladin, Kodex - 85 Rogue.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

That's what I did:

I have five different folders of WoW installations and symlink the Data, Interface,
[/font]Screenshots and WTF folders (mklink /d <Name of your Folder, e.g. "Data"> <Path to the real folder, e.g. "//Server/Games/WoWData/Data">). The WTF folder has five different Names, so for my WoW1 it'd be something like "WTF1" and so on, so I don't have any troubles with the config.wtf being overwritten by the other clients. And that way it's much easier to patch them all... all at once

I only log in solo's for crafting. I need the full screen so I can easily read the text and sort through my inventory faster.

    Other then crafting, never.

I would solo play one of them if I were level 70 but till then no. It wouldn't be hard to switch because I basically took my key bindings and altered them in a way that they would never interfere with my solo characters. It would mean a few shiftings of keys but nothing extreme. /mad love for the X-Keys!
(Currently beta-testing WoTLK... multiboxing on hold till expansion release)

TrinityBars has templates, which includes bar layout, macros, and keybindings.

I regularly play my "main" as enhancement for raiding sunwell, and she's resto for multiboxing.
I also play my pally and priest and ele shammies in Kara/Gruul occasionally.

Between TrinityBar templates and "Talented" (talent template mod), it takes me all of 2 seconds to switch specs and UI.

My 5box combo is Pally tank, 3 shaman dps, and priest healer.

I do arenas on the 3 shaman "slaves", i guess that doesnt count as playing individually but it is "breaking up" the group.

I also do arena with the priest solo, healing a lock or warrior friend.

And once in a while i do kara with the pally tanking or priest healing.
