I became GM for a day

I was sitting on my five boxing characters in the morning, and did the quest to get the polymorph pig spell, but unfortunaly the quest was bugged, and no one of my three mages received the spell after completing the quest. So i wrote a ticket from one of my mages (DudeThree) and explained the situation, the gamemaster told me that the ticket would be escalated and he told me to write a ticket on DudeFour and DudeFive to, which is my other two mages, i did that, and logged off.

When i logged on again in the afternon, i walked over to a mailbox and all the three mages had received an nice mail from the same gamemaster that i had received the spell, great great, two of the mages received another mail to, congratulating them that they had bought collectors edition, and i got a quest to receive a neat little unique pet, i thought that it was a bit cool that i actually had received such an thing for "just" a little bug and a little wait time for my spell?

Suddently i discovered that two of my characters had a <GM> tag in the chat (i have a little channel to show errors and whispers received from all chars, using an addon)

It showed up that the two characters was completely invinsible to both mobs and players, i were able to kill both players and mobs without them seeing me, unfortunaly i had to make an attack to a mob with a maximum of about 2 secons delay as the mob else would reset. I was also able to speek with alliances, and it was actually impossible for me to die on the two chars as being invinsible.

I played a bit round checking different things, and then decided to write another gm ticket to tell them to "fix" my account again, i was pretty scared for a ban, because i was so damn curious

Anyway, i had a nice talk with the gamemaster who actually flagged my as a gm by an mistake, very nice person and we talked a bit about boxing, and he wanted to know how i am multiboxing (i was actually pretty scared when he started to ask me if i was using hardware or software to multibox, etc. But i just answered pretty honestly).

Unfortunaly i couldn't get a game recorder to work, i tried both fraps and gamecam without luck, but here is some screenshots.


I just whispered and alliance, wtf?!


My [5] channel is the channel where the error messages and whispers is redirected to. Remark the: "The spell cannot be cast on beastmaster or invis god targets.", this occured when i tried to buff myself with "Arcane Intellect".


I was standing in the middle of a big pack of mobs with "Show own name" toggled on. Omg! I don't aggro the mobs, as i am invinsible to them



The last screenshots is from when i talked to the gamemaster ind the end, and got my gm flag removed again (because of my weak soul )


Epic screenshot! On two of the characters an alliance is writing "Bur" on the two others the characters is writing "lol".

I had that happen once after a GM took control of my character to resolve an issue. Mine got fixed after only a few minutes though.

This happens when a GM has to log into your character to fix something, they turn the GM flag on and forget to turn it off. You did the right thing reporting it never heard of it lasting more then a day anyway.

i wonder how much trouble you would get in if you went to ironforge and started targeting and .kill people, just drop the whole town, or ever .add item 1763 or whatever, you could have had epix! epix man! but that would prolly be ban worthy lol

That would be so full of ban its not funny. would be extremly awesome though do create a shit ton of epix and put them in everyones bags and banks and shit... basiicly just reak havoc and make GMs have to do alot of work. But yea most deffinately ban worthy.

yeah, thats one of the most epic mistakes ive ever seen.

and i would have totally let myself get banned just so i could abuse the powers. Friggin run through northshire and level all the noobs up to 70. or 71 even O.O.

you should have run your guild through BT and Hyjal. that would have been epic.
