Default Next US PvP Server.. The Zerg?

With the opening of Dreadmaul server, I thought I'd finally be able to start fresh - a new PvP server with no transfers and clean economy, so everyone is back on a level playing field with plenty of balanced world PvP. Unfortunately my Florida ping to an Oceanic server was unbearable. 9 US PvP servers were the last to be opened a year and a half ago, so we've got to be due for another one sometime soon. With the release of TBC, there were a bunch of new servers opened, so perhaps we'll have to wait for WoLK.

Who else is up for rolling fresh on a new PvP server, Zerg-style? It'd be cool to get us as a collective group dominating a new server with plenty of fresh world PvP opportunities.
As soon as one is released, I'd like to get us started and up to 70 as fast as possible..

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

It's tempting, to be sure, but I kinda like facerolling people with Knight-Champion titles.

I just logged into Dreadmaul (Oceanic) and I'm getting a 75ms ping from the Upper Midwest US... just wondering if maybe it's a local thing for you in FL.

The server itself resides in the Los Angeles datacenter. You can check on where your realm's server resides on wowwiki.com. There are only 4 datacenters for the US: Boston, MA; Dallas, TX; Los Angeles, CA; and Seattle, WA. Each battlegroup is clustered in one of the four datacenters. If you've got a low ping on your current server, it's probably either in Boston or Dallas, or it could be a local ISP thing for you down there. LA and Seattle centers are physically closer to me (well Dallas may be by a couple hundred miles) but the Seattle datacenter only has 2 battlegroup servers currently there (Emberstorm and Whirlwind servers).

Also, it's been open for a couple of months (Apr 21 launch) and looks to have some 70 transfers from the overcrowded servers... just looking at the /who when I made my level 1 to check ping...

I'll check from the house and see if the ping is any worse or not. If it's tolerable (200ms and under) then I'll probably start a Horde side 5 man group. Pally/Priest/Lock x 3... this altitis while multiboxing is a bit out of control on my part

Ah, I see they had a large period of free and paid character transfers since the Oceanic servers were so populated. The server I was thinking of was Cairne - it was stated that there would be no character transfers for 6 months:
"We’ve opened a brand new PvE realm to be added to the Emberstorm Battlegroup. This is a new non-transfer realm and as such it will not be available as a destination for Paid Character Transfers for six months. We invite new and old players alike to join this realm and begin a fresh adventure in Azeroth."

Unfortunately, Cairne is a PvE realm, so I have no interest in it. However, within 3 months, the realms population was large enough that Bliz was offering free character transfers OFF the new realm. It goes to show that new non-transferable realms are very popular, as many players are looking for a fresh start. It's unfortunate that they haven't tried this with a PvP server recently. Many PvP servers tend to have population problems (Kalecgos? I HATE this server, but many RL friends play there), but a fresh non-transferable start may be a way to keep the population on a PvP server healthy.

Just look at the population of Cairne - that's what it should look like..

Compare that to the old realm of Laughing Skull..
