    Default 32bit vs 64bit xp

Hello there!. Well Since boxing is so addicted, I decided to go with 5 boxing instead. All lvl 15 after 1 day of enormus fun playing. But my computers was a bit gimped, so i went to the store today and bought alot of new parts for my desktop
Anyhow i got 3 new computers with amd 64 dualcore 6400 x2. Anyhow im currently running windows xp on all machins 32bit. So the big question is. Should i install windows xp 64 bit ? windows vista 32 bit or 64 bit? Any recomandations is very appreciated.

    Regards

Only reason to upgrade to 64 bit is if you want to use more than 4GB of ram. If you're running 1 or 2 clients per box then 4 gigs is enough.

I'm running 5 clients on 1 box, 8gb ram, vista 64 bit with no problems

Well the question was more or less. Is it any big diffrence? i would windows be faster or anything? even i only have 4g ram.. but i heard alot about getting more out of the processor..?

There shouldn't be much difference with xp32 vs xp64. WIth vista64 vs xp64 Any minor increase/decrease would be probably related more to driver maturity.

wow will not notice a difference at all. 64 bit is for memory only.

If you can return them get one computer with a quad core and 8 gigs of ram. With the extra money you can get a dope video card and save money in the long run.

not only for memory. certain applications (and i have a fellow MB on my guild, that is always telling me to switch over to 64bit's) get improved, and i think wow bennefitcs from it. some virus dont work on 64 as well :P
when i get on vacations i will switch to 64bits. btw, i know keyclone can work on 64bits, but can synergy ?

If you want to use your 4GB go for Vista 64 imo. XP 64 is nearing it's EOL anyway. Plus driver-support for XP64 has always been meh. As for performance I doubt the average user will notice a huge difference in 32 vs 64.

You might have the odd app that doesn't work on Vista 64 but that's probably more due to Vista then the 64-bit part.

Default I use Vista x64 without issue

Let me refraise... I use Vista x64 and have no problems running WOW or keyclone.
installing keyclone with the Vista ACL active was a problem for me, it wouldn't let me unzip the files and it wouldn't tell me why I couldn't unzip the files.
I hate Vista in general but if you disable all of the security junk they put into it it's not that bad. disable the ACL and use your own firewall.

The only reason I didn't use XP64 is that I couldn't possibly get xp64 to load on my newer machine. there were no drivers for the new chipsets while Vista just loaded and worked.

Just for the record, I run 4 instances of WoW on an E2180 "Pentium Dual-Core 2.0GHz" CPU OC'd to 2.8GHz, 2GB of RAM, with a GeForce 6600LE card in a crappy Shuttle. This is truly a slow video card by today's standards since it doesn't have a fan it is underclocked compared to a typical 6600. I only get around 15fps on each of 4 windows, but for the secondary box this acceptable. I'll probably upgrade this machine to an 8800GT in the near future, but my point is that the CPU and RAM are not extraordinary and I wouldn't recommend dropping a ton of cash on overpowering a secondary box.

I know it's not relevant to the discussion, but in comparison my main machine is a Q6700@3.2GHz, 8800GT, 8GB of RAM although I can only use 3.4GB since I'm on XP32.
