Stopping Mage AOE spamming...

I usually do as most other here, with the nova/shock/NS+CL

But If a fight is very chaotic, I have another emergency system that works fairly good if you get hit by several aoe'rs.

I first pop bloodlust, then I use a roundrobin chain heal (one shaman heals the next, then the next etc.

This will give you a really good aoe heal, and keep you alive while your totems do the job for you.

Note: this requires 5/5 talents in the interupt reduce for healing to work any good.

yeah, the mage that got my team last night killed us before the nova's even went off... i can't wait til 70 and some real gear does res help against that aoe?

And BTW.... mage is the only class im afriad of on my team... any other class is easy sauce...

Let me just put in my support for fire nova totem. That thing kicks so much ass in AV. I always drop it when someone is in melee range. It crushes warriors, rogues (kills them before they can pop cloak if they don't preemt, and I can finish them off through cheat death with shocks), and the much hated aoe spamming mage It is somewhat mana intensive though, but worth it.

edit: pre-70 you simply wont have enough life to survive that. Even at 70 it can be hard. I started out at ~7.k2 health last weekend and now am up to 9.4k +166 resil and it makes a _huge_ difference.

Once you have the gear for it, there is an alternative way of looking at the mage :

The AoE spamming mage is FREE MANA!. He sets off your water shield on every shammy :)
As long as you play with a descent healer, just ignore him while your totems finishes him off :)

/cast Purge
/point
/laugh

This is personally why I made my shamans tauren, warstomp is amazing in situations like this.

5X firenova totem.
Warstomp.
Cast chain lightning.

Mage will be dead or only an earthshock away from death
