yup... brilliant... it's all because the IT industry was undisciplined.. yea.. sure.. you betcha. it would have nothing to do with the fact that you can get mid-level people doing 60 hrs/week for $500/month ($200-350/month if you go to the pacrim) (and yes.. i know these numbers from personal experience)
i guess all those other industries were undisciplined as well... textiles, steel, ee, accounting, bio-chem research... yup.. all undisciplined.
please, how long do i have to play stupid. the only reason these industries are shipping offshore is cost. if a person from India cost 3 times as much as an American, the employer would work with the American. don't think so? then ask yourself.. why aren't we pulling people from switzerland or germany? (specialists excluded)
as for the kids out of college today.. graduation rates in the IT section are dropping, and have been since 2000 when the H1B bills were pushed through. in 2000, there were just over 5m US IT workers. today, that number is around 1.5m. there are plenty of people here, they just cost more then $500/month.
as for not being old enough.. ?? ... older then kids through college would be .. roughly.. 60s?? yea, at that point.. money beyond the bills is less important then remembering where you left your teeth![]()
