I have done this before with my old raid group when our server was down for extended maintenance (the pre-TBC upgrade). It was a blast, we ended up getting him with about 15-18 I think. Only bad thing is that I don't think he is elite any more :(.

He is, indeed, still elite. We were going to kite him to stormwind but the fire festival buff kinda insta-kills him.
