    Default wiki up front

The wiki should be the front dual-boxing.com. I'm assuming most of the new users are referred to the website by multi boxers.
This is a great idea. It would give new MBers a first place to look and also encourage everyone else to add content to the wiki more often.

the definition of 'forum' is "community" if you and any other multiboxers feel you've gone beyond us regular mouthbreathers and you feel we're holding your ankles,
preventing you from ascending to GOD status, by asking all of you "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?"
oh yea.. that's one's gold

personally, i find the topic almost amusing... like you are forced to read a post in the NEWBIE section titled "i'm new.. can i get some help setting up?"

this attitude is new on these forums. we had plenty of newbies from last july through to march/april... actually, most of the members signed up during that period... most asking the same type of questions... yet, for some reason, since about april... some people started to complain, which starts the ball rolling, and others chime in shortly there after.

(i've seen this behavior before elsewhere.. and the technique is not new...)

in the end, the goal is to grow the community and thereby help the adoption of multi-boxing by the major game producers.

picking on newbies, which will always ask for help when they first start out.. and i personally do not mind that at all... so long as they help someone else in the future, is just lame

I don't think revoking posting privileges for noobs is the way to go. Honestly, if you can't take a little ribbing by our "RTFM, n00b" crowd here, you will HATE people calling you a cheater/botter/lamer/etc. in game.

I tend to side with the RTFM crowd because I all too often see posts going, "Hey, there's too much information here for me to read, can u halp me prz?" That just indicates that you're simply lazy and want us to wave a wand and make you successful. I wish I could do that in my investment forums. :P
Agreed. You better grow some thick skin quick before jumping into the game as a 5-boxer, or you'll be spending more time arguing with idiots than leveling your team. I don't mind helping out if someone articulates their question well and is polite, but I'm not going to lift a finger for most of the asshat WoW forum community who can't type a complete sentence without looking like a middle school dropout. The problem lies with the anonymous attitude of the internet. Act like a jackass in society and you'll get knocked the fuck out.

I tend to repond nicely to even the 'wtf HAX' whispers in-game, and they usually are nice and curious by the time I explain it to them. I've got to write down some standard /r macros to start saving some time..

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

    I work(ed) in IT support.

Every day some asshat would walk in and ask me for a new mouse.

I put a sign on the door saying "SPARE MICE ARE IN THE CUPBOARD BEHIND YOU"

I then got someone walking in and asking every 2 days.

    Morale of this story?
No matter *how* well we signpost everything, make the guides as easy to read as possible, etc. There are still plenty of retards who wont bother reading. Obviously, not all of them are the Instant-gratification-seeking window-lickers which populate the WoW forums. Infact some of the previously bashed newbs have gone on to be quite outstanding members of the community.

What I'm trying to say, is that I don't think we need our attitutes to change. Multiboxing is based partially on intuition, and requires a fairly thick skin, theres no point in us "cuddling" the newbs. If they ask a valid question, 9/10 times it'll be answered. If they ask a question which is pretty goddamn obvious from the stickies (which they should all bloody read) then I'd say RTFM is a perfectly understandable response.
