Default About to buy the xkeys pro but.....

Hi - I'm currently sitting at the shopping cart on the xkeys site......but I'm not sure what xkeys pro I should buy - ps2 or usb? I box 5 accounts on one pc, I've read a lot of posts saying to get the ps2 but cannot find a reason why except for hardware boxers. Unfortunately searching xkeys on our forums returns 357 results - now I'm adding the 358th So the question is: why is ps2 > usb

I 5 box on 1 pc and I bought both and the PS2 is quite easy to program. I like the capabilities of the fast change of MacroWorks II but Im a fan of the flip a switch, press button, press button, press button, program >>. And you can always get a PS/2->USB emulator in case of the future not supplying PS2 ports like those macs.

Just did an eyeball search of the forum messages and found another thread like this. So my apologies for creating ANOTHER thread >.<
Looks like the way to go for boxing on 1 pc is the usb. Now, second question: does the macroworks software have to run in memory for the keys to work and if so does warden find this objectionable?

Uses for PS2 xkeys:
- hardware multiboxing
- software multiboxing
- "hybrid" software + hardware multiboxing

Uses for USB xkeys:
[s]- hardware multiboxing[/s]
- software multiboxing
[s]- "hybrid" software + hardware multiboxing[/s]

This is why the PS2 version is recommended. If you are sure you will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER switch from pure software boxing, then you CAN use the USB version. If there is even a remote chance that your setup will change in the future, the USB xkeys will likely cease to work if you're using more than 1 computer.

The benefit of the ps2 xkeys? It works for EVERYTHING.

Check the GM conversations wiki. When in doubt, write your own post to clarify on the customer service forums.

Are all types of "3rd party software" bannable?
Likewise, hardware, by nature, is "3rd party". What kinds (or uses) of 3rd party hardware are bannable?
Is it sending an identical signal to all client windows or switching between them to send commands? Not automation.

Is it playing the game for you, or rather, for one of your client windows? Automation.

All hardware is considered neutral as long as its commands and features are not being used to automate gameplay.

Clearly our definitions of automation differ greatly.
And finally, this one (in which a user is attempting to use a 3rd party program to send commands to WoW via voice -- it's applicable to unknown 3rd party programs in general): http://dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.ph...of-game_Macros

Multiple key presses/uses of abilities from a single command, spoken or typed? Not okay.
Inserting pauses? Not okay.

A single key press or command that issues a command to several different characters? Okay.
For example, you could use that same verbal command 'Buff Group' to trigger a single key-press macro (say, keybind c) which for your Mage is Arcane Brilliance, and for your Priest is Prayer of Fortitude. You could not include a step to have them rest. You could not make them drink. You cannot include more than a single step in that command.

If you were hoping to accomplish more than that with this program, then it is a very good idea to revert to more traditional multi-boxing methods immediately.

Thanks Vyndree, maximum verbosity as usual, thanks for the info ps2 it is.

So now I'm at the shipping page after selecting the ps2

Get this aussies: even with shipping of US$71, it's still only going to cost me AU$253 compared to AU$369 + shipping if I bought locally
