Another thing to do would be disable Quality of Service Packet Scheduler on your network adapters.
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > right click on your adapter > Properties
Highlight the "Quality of Service Packet Scheduler" and uninstall or uncheck the box and select OK.
The reasons why that function has been installed by default by microsoft for the last 2 OS releases absolutely baffles me. It has no functionality in 99% of all networks on the planet.
