Aye if you don't have the means to pay for Keyclone, look up Octopus. Its a free alternative that doesn't have options that could put your accounts at risk.

Started really messing around with Dual-boxing last night and keyclone. I just read a brief step-by-step guide then took 2 elem shamans and spent the night in shatt and AV learning how to really use the program. So far I like it.

Your gonna have to request help in the software or Newbie forums *as this direct forum isn't for support *. But the link I posted should have a guide linked somewhere for setup.

Howdy Merex and welcome to the forums!

if you could wait until tonight, i could get on vent and give you a walk through (i usually do 1 a night)
otherwise, there are quite a number of posts on the subject.

as a quick overview.. when i walk someone through a setup, this is what i normally do:

    1. delete the keyclone folder... this way i know where i am starting.
    2. download a new copy and install (note: vista must run-as admin for permissions to be set properly)
    3. find the keyclone folder.. right-click/drag keyclone.exe to the desktop.. release.. select "create shortcut" (DO NOT move or copy)
    3a. (note: if vista, right-click shortcut/properties/advanced/CHECK run-as admin)
    4. run keyclone
    5. keyclone/setup/maximizer : layout maximizer (differs per person).. watch region names and resolutions per region.. enable maximizer
    7. keyclone/setup/command editor: create commands
7a. type command name into command field (wow1)
7b. hit 'program...' and find wow.exe... NOT launcher.exe .. select and hit 'open'
7c. fill in region name (region1)
7d. check wow:uname and fill in the first account name
7e. set the maxfpsbk to 15 and maxfps to 40 (more of less depending on hardware)
7f. hit the '+' button to add to list
7g. click the wow1 in the list, fields will popular... adjust for wow2.. hit '+' and you get the 2nd command (a little shorter this way)
    8. keyclone/setup/do-not-pass: add your movement keys and auto-run (NUMLOCK by default)
    9. keyclone/setup/override settings: check the audio reminder... note the default override key is PAUSE
    10. keyclone/setup/general: UNCHECK 'auto-add windows titled', CHECK 'focus follows mouse' (optional), CHECK performance boost (xp only)
    11. hit OK
    12. exit keyclone, restart, verify all setting still there (permissions... they have me superstitious)
    13. launch your wows.. to the right of the connect button there is the command field... type your commands (ie: wow1;wow2;wow3)
13a. note: the command names were the same from the command editor
13b. note: multiple commands can be strung together using a semicolon
13c. NO SPACES (i should compensate for that...)

that's it... you have all your wows running at this point. i generally recommend hitting PAUSE (override) to type in the password, then hti enter to get to character selection... enter to enter the game... then space to jump all your characters at once

    you are now multi-boxing.

at which point, i'd take a right turn into wow in-game macros and suggest a few simple ones. if the user is more advanced, i'd give them the intermediate macro stuff.

and that's it. hopefully you'll be able to divine enough off this to help. if not, drop me a PM and i'll see what i can do.

good luck and welcome to the addiction!

Be sure to also read our Community Guidelines, particularly...

    General Forum Rules
    • Before asking for support of ANY KIND, search the Wiki and/or the forum search function.
    • Please read the forum name and description before posting, posting in the wrong place does not help you or other forum users.
      • The General Discussion forum is NOT for support

Keyclone (the person) has actually ALREADY posted step-by-step instructions that are stickied in the Software Forum: FAQ: step-by-step basic keyclone setup

While Keyclone is an uber patient and uber accomodating kind of guy, it's usually best to do a search in either the wiki or the forum search before creating a new thread topic.
