Yah, I had the background set to 5 but didnt limit the normal max. The thing that puzzles me is even with those settings left blank, my primary account doesn't gain any FPS. Like I said I run two accounts each from their own directory. The "main" has higher graphics settings. I normally get 50+ fps in the old world if this account is loaded alone. The second account, the slave, uses bare bones everything reduced to minimum. He runs very high fps even when loaded with the master. I have turned the slave account to max of 5 in back ground, but I didnt make any gains on the masters FPS. My test zone right now is ungoru, the master sticks around 30fps regardless of the fpsbk setting on the slave. Am I doing something wrong? All I did was change the blank box to a 5 and hit apply and ok. I didnt think there is much more to it than that, but you never know.
Anyway, the fact that Im not making gains in FPS on the master leads me to believe I did something wrong. One time in Feralas when i was testing this, I did score a major FPS spike and was upwards of 70 as if that account was loaded alone, so I thought I had the background thing working properly. But then it went away, I am unsure what caused that.
For it to be considered in the background, does the window actually have to be minimized? I run both windows at the exact same resolution and overlapped. I can't actually turn on the FPS and see the background account because the main will be blocking it. I did test this with another program, and did not obtain any FPS drop (to 5 as I set it). I minimized the master, had the slave in foreground, and then put firefox overtop of it. I assumed this would cause the slave account to limit its FPS for being in the background, but it did not.
Anyway, any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
