My point was, as a Solo rogue I had a hard time getting w/in range or a target without the use of /spring, /speed enchant, or /swiftness pots.

I couldn't imagine the stress that 5x would be... if your main can't chase them down... how are your 4 alts supposed to?

That's fair. But, you would have to assume that the people wanting to mulit-box had some basic knowlege of wow classes and mechanics.

It seems like it would better for said person to post, "Hey, I tried out 5 rogues and here are the problems I ran into..." That seems a much better way to get help. Personally, I like reading about what people tried and their success and failures instead of theory-crafting what may happen so maybe I'm just selfish like that

GO HOKIES btw
Class mechanics for solo play and mutliboxing are totally different though. Solo shaman - not that great. Multibox shaman however are one of the best all round setups. Solo druids - great all round class, but not that strong as a multiboxed group. Multiboxing requires you to look at class choice in a totally different manner. Outside of this website, there aren't many multiboxing resources around...so it's not surprising people come here with no real idea of what they are doing, or sometimes even what they want.
The other thing is that levelling toons to 70 takes quite a significant investment of time - not many have that kind of time or inclination to try a particular combo of class to see of it works (although PTR's are a great option when they are available). Most people want a setup that they know will be viable end-game (i.e. at level 70 and beyond), so that the time invested in levelling won't be wasted. Hence class combo questions are fairly common from new or potential boxers.

I hate to be that guy, but your math is off

Shaman - Mage - Shaman
is the same as
Mage - Shaman - Shaman

It goes:
For 2-boxing: 45 combos.
For 3-boxing: 165 combos.
For 4-boxing: 495 combos.
For 5-boxing: 1287 combos.

it's still a lot.
5x Druids || Paladin + 4x Shaman
4x Hunters + Shaman || 4x Warlocks + Priest
4x Mages || 4x priests|| 4-Melees

1????????10?
????????20?????????30?????????40?????????50?????????60?????????70

You are facing the wrong way
YOU TARGET IS NOT CLOSE ENOUGH
Enable "attack on assist" in options.

macro:

/follow (main)
/assist (main)

Problem solved. Just tap macro and alts will move back into melee range. Come on guys! You're multiboxes! Think outside the box! :P
Rogues are the only class I've never leveled past 10.. I just have no desire to play one. BUT I may boost one just so I have someone to open boxes...

ah but then..

Shaman/Mage/Shaman == Shaman/Shaman/Mage =/= Mage/Shaman/Shaman

as we would have differentiate between Main and clones, as this drastically alters gaming style :P

but overall ur right class combos repeat themselves
1--------10---------20---------30---------40---------50---------60---------70---------80

I corrected my orginal math and if I pulled the math out of my arse from the way-back machine correctly....

P(((group_size - 1) + #_of_classes) , group_size)
-------------------------------------------
group_size !

you can substitute #_of_classes with #_of_specs (27)
