Default Is XYZ Class combination any good?

I see a lot of threads from new multi-box users asking how is XYZ class combination for multi-boxing and I wanted to throw something out there for consideration.

For 2-boxing, there are 45 different class combinations
    3-boxing, 165 class combinations
    4-boxing, 495 class combinations
    5-boxing, 1287 class combinations.

That doesn't even take talent tree focus into account. If you do, then for 5 boxing,
169,911 possible class and talent tree combinations!

My suggestion, try whatever you are considering and post your experiences here. Read about others experiences. Experimenting is a large part of multi-boxing, in my opinion.

I can only think of maybe two rules of thumb
    1. Focus on DPS specs/classes for leveling and quest grinding
    2. A healer and rezzer in your group will make things much easier

Outside of that, go play, experiment and let us know how it goes

    EDITED: to fix my math

I agree 100% with this, but its also human nature to draw on the experiences of others. For example, say I want to go with a 5 box rogue team. Possible? Sure. Full of issues and concerns and problems? For sure.

Maybe there is someone that has done it already and can tell me ahead of time what I will face. Maybe someone can spare me the pain and point me in the right direction. I think that is really what people are looking for when they post those threads. They might not ask their questions in that way, but most people just want some assurance that they have chosen a viable combo.

That's fair. But, you would have to assume that the people wanting to mulit-box had some basic knowlege of wow classes and mechanics.

It seems like it would better for said person to post, "Hey, I tried out 5 rogues and here are the problems I ran into..." That seems a much better way to get help. Personally, I like reading about what people tried and their success and failures instead of theory-crafting what may happen so maybe I'm just selfish like that

    GO HOKIES btw

I agree completly. I'd be much more inclined to help someone who's already done some work on their own. Makes it easier to help them refine their situation into a workable one. Theory Craft only goes so far... You can do all the work on paper you want, but until you apply it you won't know if its gonna be garbage or not.

I have a 5X rogue team although only in the 30's.

Think about how great it will be at higher level though, you see a full alliance group ahead.

Target the warlock, 5X shadowstep, 2 shot him -- then vanish. While the other 4 turn around and try to figure out what is going on, you wait for vanish to come off cooldown to repeat on the next member.

Ohh this seems like such fun lol.

At 70 it would almost be impossible to die, cloak of win + sprint.
