Grats - you'll love it. I'm enjoying it way more than Azeroth (there's just only so many times you can do Azeroth, even with the newness of multiboxing it).
...for when one toon just isn't enough...

    Horde Caelestrasz Multiboxer:
Team1: 5xPaladin....Level 80 - Heroic gearing completed. WTB [Frost Badge] pst pls.

Strictly speaking you can start Outlands at 55 by starting the grind to HH/Ogrimmar 5999/6000 honored from Ramp normal runs. My priest dinged 59 and Honored last night after doing the same. Means that the quests in Hellfire should get her well into the Reverred-->Exalted grind just from questing It was that or grind AD rep in EPL/WPL so I figured I would go for the one that seems more useful. Once the Hellfire quests are finished (figuring around 60-61) I'll go grind Boglords in the Dead Mire for a while for Sporegar rep, herbs (she's an alchemist) and Unidentified Plant parts. When I have 300 of those I'll hand them in at the Cenarion Refuge to get to 5999/6000 Friendly with CE prior to running their quests - alternatively I may just run Slave Pens and Underbog until 5999/6000 - I could probably do with the equipment :P. I'll do the same for the Auchenai instances since doing the dungeons on normal to 5999/6000 and then doing the quests seems like an easier way to do things then doing them on Heroic for rep later. Course, whenever I'm bored I go grind Ogres in Nagrand, free Kurenai rep while I grind beads for Consortium rep is nice (I really like my monthly gem bags :P).

You probably mean that you were grinding with your priest in another (higher level) group? The mobs are level 60-61 - I'm fairly sure a lvl 55 group would get owned here especially without outland gear?

The majority of my group were 61-62 when we started though I'd assume that a level 58 group with the green outland BoE gears could do quite well tbh as long as you control your pulls and ensure that you kill groups appropriately (devastators first, then the 'worker' orcs that do stuns, then magic users, then normal melee). A couple of tips I would offer are - turn the first boss away from your group (his AoE effect has a forward facing cone so only the tank will be damaged) and blow all your cooldowns on the Orc at the final boss - the faster he hits 40% the faster the dragon stops spewing fireballs - better to nuke him first and DPS the dragon slowly afterwards.
