Ashenvale is good as well, and the horde and alliance towns are far enough apart so you usually can quest without being attacked. Definitely recommend picking up the Ashenvale Hunt quest - the chain starts from Warcaller Gorlach - head to Ashenvale, kill 3 named mobs, turn in at Splintertree Post for an easy 10K total exp.
