Do the clear cases suck up and show a lot of dust? My computers tend to be vaccuum cleaners... so much dust sucked up. I wanted to move to acrylic cases, but always thought the dust would be a problem (cosmetic problem of course).
Honestly, my aluminum case from my main PC (Spike) which is about 6 months YOUNGER than the acrylic ones -- had more dust in it.

    O.o

Not exactly explainable, but I haven't seen excessive dust buildup in the acrylic cases. Perhaps the acrylic is less likely to have dust "stick"?
Back when I was building more of my own machines and expending more energy thinking about fans and overclocking, the main factor I found with this is how your fans are arranged. Most computers will have more fans blowing the air out than in, which leads to the computer sucking in air through all the cracks where ever it can, which allows it to accumulate too much dust. If you have the option to re-rig a the fan setup so that you have more fans bringing air in through a light filter, you can keep dust out because all the other openings have air being forced out rather than sucked in.

If you're really tweaking it, you can also do some modding of the fans to change the amount of airflow in/out to get it just right.

Also, the other reason this worked is because a properly installed fan is likely to be mounted in such a way that the airflow naturally brings in less dust because it's not coming through the holes and cracks at the bottom of the case. So where the air is entering makes a difference as well.

    Hope that helps

    IKEA.

They're the "business" desks where you essentially buy the tabletop (we chose two opposite "L" shapes) and legs.

    Images are gone again!

Anyone have a cache of the old images? I'm actually looking for the shamns.jpg pic, the one with the 6 monitors in the shot.
