Yeah I love trinity.. just don't know why it's hogging up so much.. never used to.
plus it's annoying me by not letting my put macros / spells onto my bars.. empty buttons and can't put anything in them. /grr.
When I first started with trinity bars I couldn't drop in spells or macros into the bars either. I noticed the little green icon at the top of the macro/spellbook frame. This is to toggle binding directly. If you click that to disable macro/spell binding it should allow you to drag and drop the macros and spells into the buttons. That is the only thing I ran into that sounds like what you're going through. I haven't checked exactly how much memory trinity is using, but I will say it's not the top 3 of my addons. Questhelper is #1 on mem usage(15mb), then MobInfo2(8mb), and third is informant(3.5mb). I haven't done to much crazy stuff with trinity such as binding directly. I pretty much just have 5 custom bars made and everything is dropped into those bars. Maybe you're using more functionality then I am.

On a side note about trinity bars. I have 1 through = my main, then shift 1 through = my alts. I bind on my main shift 1 through = to empty bars, but trinity doesn't cath the input to prevent the keypress. I have to go into bindings and set them to an empty action bar in blizzs ui so that it catches the keypress. I.e. 4 is frost shock on main, and shft 4 is frost shock on alt. I hit shft+4. Main and alts frost shock. I bind shft4 to an empty blizz action bar as opposed to trinity bar.. shift+4 only alt frost shocks. This wouldn't be that much of an issue as once the bindings are in it all works, but the kicker is the bindings reset everytime I login, therefore making it so I have to bind the keys. I keep meaning to add them manual to the bindings-cahce.wtf file.
