Thread: My group makeup

    Default My group makeup

My 1xPaly, 3xmage,1xPriest group which is now 67 sounds pretty good doesn't it? Loads of utility, except it's shite in some instances. After playing this team so far and just having had my head handed to me on a plate yet again in slave pens >.< I realise why so many boxers choose 1xPally, 4xshaman: fear reduction. In SP I'm plowing through trash, ccin where I can but if 1 mob manages to get an aoe fear off it's a wipe. Wiping in SP at 67 is not good.
Well I guess I can live without going into SP, I've never been there on my other high level chars and there's no drops in there I /NEED so I couldn't care less.
Are there any other instances I should avoid due to fears? I don't have the PvP trinkets, my team has never even stepped inside a BG >.<

If you aren't already keep fear ward up on your tank, just wished they had not nerfed it so bad.

I am just theorycrafting, so if it doesn't work, sorry. I have noticed that some mobs don't like to use AOE effects if there is only 1 person near them. What if you stop your alts at 30 yards (still 36 for mages and 40 for healing), and just had tank out front? They might not fear your tank. Also, I think all priests get fear ward, so one fear is free. Not sure if that helps, just trying.

I completed slave pens for the first time last night at level 61. It wasnt so bad, your right the AOE fears are not fun but they can be avoided, just stay at max range and you can avoid most of them. Sheep if you need to, I managed to get through with no sheeping. The Mindcontrol mobs were a bigger issue for me but not impossible. I was surprised I was able to complete it at this level but it makes me happy I chose a priest over a pally healer, Prayer of healing is fantastic for the 2nd and 3rd boss in there.
When I googled Teams of Five this is what I got.

The Fab Five - JalenRose, ChrisWebber, JimmyKing, RayJackson, JuwanHoward

Wait till you get Prayer of Mending at 68, probably my most favorite healing spell ever, spam it every time the cd is up, low mana cost and it heals for lot. I too am happy I chose priest for my main healer, so many different heals lets me heal differently for different situations, took a while to grasp them all though.

This may be a stupid question...

But what happens if your characters are set to "walk" instead of "run" and get feared?
If they walk when feared..it might be a good idea to set up a macro to toggle that before a pull..
Everquest II - <Pain for Glory> on Nektulos Server

(Guardian: Tukilu | Templar: Ajechu | Warden: Fayanna | Conjuror: Akaesia | Troubador: Lollah | Warlock: Onona) X 27-ish[/align]

If you are set to walk, you will be feared and start running, then go back to walking after the fear. :(

    Some good advice here, thanks
So I'll keep the guys way back at max range and have the fear ward up on the tank. I'm not looking forward to getting the pvp trinket >.< as I've managed to stay fairly invisible. AV would probably be best I think as my team wouldn't be that great in a bg and av is a bit more forgiving. BTW: I posted the OP when I was very tired and angry at 3am this morning lol - In a fit of pique I went and changed my low level shammies names to:

    Angree
    Angrie
    Angrei
    Angrii

If yeh dont already have it use this macro

    /cancelaura Divine Shield
    /cast Divine Shield

    spam it twice

Iit'll remove fear and yeh should get aggro right back on the pali

so with yer Fear Ward ,trinket plus divine sheild yeh can mitigate 3 fears

Yeh can also iceblock the mages and Power Word: Shield the priest to give yeh some breathing room
