Why didn't someone tell me that keymaps were the answer to my formation issues? Now my 2nd clone can have his DOWN arrow back instead of having it mapped to Z!!

Just to clarify (i'm at work and bored) - I can map Z to DOWN arrow on clone 1, left on clone 2, right on clone 3?

Is it possible to do 2 keys simultaniously (not A then B, I mean AB)? or for example - DOWN arrow and LEFT?

Not that I know of and I can't find a possible way to do exactly that. I for myself am sitting on the same problem right now.
5 Characters
Character 1 (Main) presses * which sends "out" and presses ' which sends "in".
In :
Character 2 - A
Character 3 - S
Character 4 - D
Character 5 - W
Out:
Character 2 - D
Character 3 - W
Character 4 - A
Character 5 - S

If I press * or ' on my main character nothings happening and I cant see the error here. :/

ummm... Zzy... keymaps are the answer to your formation issues (of course i had swing at the low hanging fruit )

you only need to hit new to clear out the previous keymap you were playing with.

basically... the very first thing you need to do is to sit down with a piece of paper and make a grid. character names across the top, hotstrings down the left side. each column is a different keymap.

to create a keymap:
go to setup/keymap editor
1. click in key... hit key...
2. click in hotstring.. type phrase (NOTE: do NOT use spaces or caps... it'll just be a source of problems. use a period for word separators)...
3. then click 'add'
4. repeat for each key.

once done with all the hotstrings for this keymap, hit 'save' and type in the name (i believe you must include the extension)

then hit 'new' to clear out the current keymap and get ready for a new one

repeat the above process for each character.
place the keymap on your command to automatically load the map with the proper character

got it all figured out - can we get some input from the KC god regarding the 2 key issue? is is possible?

2 keys into a single wow ... from 1 key pressed... hmmm... nope. that would be bannable (or very close)

• that takes you down the road towards out-of-game macros (- ban-able -)
• and then you would naturally introduce a delay between key presses so the game will accept them (- ban-able -)
• and of course, what good would a macro be if you didn't have any loops or conditionals (- ban-able -)

you get the idea. any product allowing you to do any of these would be extremely gray area or outright ban-able

(i've purposefully stayed away from anything that would be related to 'botting')

yeah that's why I specified earlier 2 keys "at once", not in sequence.

WTB diagonal strafing keybinds in wow!!

There are keypads out there with true 8 way d-pads... I have seen blue response that it is permissible to bind e.g. the NE direction to both UP and RIGHT to a single initiating button.

Unfortunately I am unable to locate the blue response I saw and so may post a query on the EU CS forum regarding this.

Note: I have also seen blue respond that binding G-keys to a sequence of keys is allowed providing no delays or decision making are involved

OK I think you've touched on something I had suspected, but hadn't seen verified - The key word there is "series" - 2 keypresses simultaniously still only results in 1 action (in this case - a single movement). A SERIES of keystrokes would cause 2 actions.

Anyone elses thoughts?

Here's my experience from playing with my x-keys.

Setting ONE button to:
Press move forward, press strafe left, release strafe left, release move forward

This makes you move forward for a microsecond then strafe left.

Setting two buttons, one to move forward, one to strafe left, then keycapping it with a double key cap.

This makes you move diagonal.
