Ye, was just about to ask how long it would take to lvl 5 shammy's like im doing right now.. they are all lvl 4 atm. 8)
I am currently level 69 with my shammies and having some fun in BG's building honor before i make the final push...and im at 11days /played. This is my first team so this includes the time to learn macros and such but I am very happy with the journey and the time it took. Based off the forums I would imagine the average time for a 5 boxer is 9-15days /played. One thing I would recommend is spending some time at 39,49,and 59 looking back, rocking the bg's for a day or two was some of the most fun i had... and prepared me for the open world gankage that i would receive in outlands (damn you lvl 70 rogues!)

I plan on dual boxing two shammies and I'd like to know if, after I get everything set up right and my gameplay becomes efficient, will it be faster than leveling one character at a time? I plan on just doing the normal stuff like questing and grinding.
    Thanks!
I'm dual-boxing, and I would say that running two toons at the same level is a *little* faster in some ways than soloing, but it's not a huge advantage. Honestly, I think it's one of the big reasons the chinese powerlevelers don't multibox, or don't seem to. (Thank god, we get enough crap).

Your best strategy is to get a powerleveling guide mod, and quest it, the exp is better, and with the new exp. curve higher up it's a pretty smooth process now.

I think you'll find, however, that you have so much fun trying new things, and exploring and doing stuff you could never do solo, and tweaking macros and such, that you won't mind how fast it is. I have several teams leveling, and I could care how long it takes to get to 70 - the 70+ game is so boring right now, and the zones full of everyone grinding and griefing and hogging nodes and mobs, that I'm in NO rush to get more characters there.

I'm actually enjoying going back to my old stomping grounds with my own group. It changes the whole dynamics of the game. I adore boxing! I look forward to get to Outland and 70 but it isn't on my list of priorities. I want to get my toons geared with blues and do some BGs for fun at the *9 level.

I found that my 5-man team leveled about 20% slower than I have done with single characters of various classes.

Just to throw a loop in this whole thread. I've found it actually faster to level my Pally, 4 Shaman team up. 26-60 in 2 weeks actual time, at my rate that's about 4 day's played time, works out to about 4-6 hours a day (for me this is about 8pm-12am as that's when my kids are sleeping). Some of the milestone levels like 30,40,50,60 i spent more time that day, but i got about 2-3 levels every night just doing Quests. At 60 my team had 5 day's played. I did not grind any normal mobs, or did i hit an instance for grinding either.

I ground Deadmines, Shadow Fang and RFK getting gear and leveling in the instances, but quickly found that to be way slower then actually going out and doing quests. The biggest problem that i found was not having enough quests worth doing before i was high enough level to get to the next zone.

Level 30-40 was Duskwallow Marsh, Arathi, Hillsbrad, Stranglethorn Vale.

Level 40-50 was Tanris, Hinterlands, Searing Gorge, Burnning Steeps, Feralas, UnGoro Crater Zul'Farrak (2 levels in ZF 1 killing mobs, 1 on quests 44-46)

Level 50-58 Was Eastern/Western Plaguelands, Wintersprings, Silithus, Felwood, Black Rock Depths (3 levels just in BRD doing quests and Ony Attunement)

Level 58-60 Was Hellfire Quests which only took about 4 hours to do the whole zone.

Next up for me is Zangramarsh i'll let you know how long it takes me to do that zone.

That is what does it for me too. I'm level 20 doing all red quests and I'm doing instances whenever I want. I am thinking of putting together a basic leveling guide (something that points out quests that are best for MBing) but I'm still putting notes together for it.

This is only my second day of Dual-logging so please excuse my ignorance.
My average levelling time for a single character is about 15 days played. Nothing special I know but good enough for me. Anyway, I'm using two different classes so I can keep both at the end. So for two toons that means 30 days played if I was to solo level each toon. Are you guys saying that you can level 2-5 toons in 17 days total? If so that's much faster! I mostly quest to level so much of my XP comes individually and my rested bonuses, I imagine, would make up for most of the losses due to having a party instead. Is that a fair assumption? I think the first 6-10 levels would be the hardest as I'm learning and also because the starting area has no inn for the rested bonus.

Or am I completely missing something??

    Cheers

Sounds like you have at least one level 70. Not sure why people in this thread keep talking about leveing up a whole team at once instead of boosting (I know at least some of you have a level 70 already). Sure, you lose one spot in the crew to the 70 but you level so much faster.

As I said earlier if you boost 4 toons with one level 70 your time to level those four will probably be LESS than it takes to level one from 1 to 70 solo. It should not take you anywhere near 15 days /played to have four 70s if you boost.

Some people would rather do all the content with equivalent-level toons, and that's fine if they do - I understand that perspective. But if you are looking for speed, boosting is the way to go.

Hmm, I see. But I only have the ability to dual-log. I can't have anymore toons in the party. So my 70 and a low lvl is still a viable option? Just do instances until outlands and then quest maybe? Sorry for the questions, just wanted to clarify...
