    Default Question re. /follow & /assist commands

Started dual boxing on the weekend with a lock main and priest alt. Just a question regarding the /follow and /assist commands.

Re. /follow - Getting a little frustrating having to constantly hit my follow macro as my alt seems to stop following after every fight & sometimes while riding. Has anyone tried keybinding /follow on the 2nd toon to the forward key on the main toon? Does it work well?

Re. /assist - I'm finding that I have to press this quite a few times for it to take effect. I tend to target switch quite often to refresh dots so I find my lower level alt is often dotting the wrong targets as I can't make his assist fast enough. Is this just lag or is there a way around it? ATM I'm just using the basic /assist (main's name) command. Would adding a focus target to the macro help?

I'm at work atm so I can't test out the above, just some ideas I had driving in

#1 - Get an addon called twobox tool kit. It has an option to auto follow after combat. I wouldnt set up your keybind that way cause as soon ad you want to move in your main to attack the others would refollow

#2 sounds like lag. I had the same prob when I first started. Just had to get used to the dealy

Ok I'll look into that addon, and I was thinking lag might be the culprit. Thanks for your help.

When my main character casts Shadow Bolt, my second character runs a macro:

    /assist focus
    /cast Shadow Bolt

My main is the focus obviously, so on EVERY spell cast my second character reaqquires the target. I only ever find this problematic when dealing with /petattack.

I realise you are dealing with two different classes here, so I don't know how well this solution applies to you.

As for /follow, there are specific things that you can and can't do while maintaining follow. My experience is only with Warlocks, but it should be sufficient to give you a good idea:

All instant casts, and spells with cast time do not break follow, unless your main runs out of follow range while the alt is standing still casting.
    Autoattack breaks follow.
Spells that auto-face, like the Drain Soul/Life/Mana or Health Funnel will break follow.

That twoboxtoolkit addon mentioned above is brilliant. I don't use the autofollow function, as it requires you to have one character to be the designated master, and my setup doesn't go like that, but you may find it to your liking.
Stopped multiboxing to experience raid content with friends.
    Was 2-boxing warlocks until Wrath.
    Regularly lurks, very occasionally posts.

Just a tip if you use:
    /cast shadow bolt [target=focustarget]

Your followers will not target the mob but still cast on the correct target. This leave your actual target slot free for CC, pet tanking, heals or whatever you wish.

    EG.
Main targets mobA and presses the assist button preferably before the fight. Now your followers have mobA targeted.

Main targets mobB and casts dps spell, followers cast dps spell on mobB however they maintain mobA as the target. Now press seduce key and your followers send there succy to seduce their current target which is mobA

Anyway this is my theory crafting for if i ever run a class with CC....

Might help, might not, several ways of doing this - I don't have nor have I heard of those problems using this method.
