    Default Does your system change?

Sorry for the ambiguous title, I was hoping to start what could be an interesting discussion regarding programs, macros etc, but couldn't come up with something that adequately described my intentions without being overly wordy.

    I have a simple question.

Do you feel that your macros, your programs, your UI, are complete?

That is to say, do you no longer find yourself changing and improving on any aspects of your multiboxing experience?

My warlock pair is only level 24 and I've never copy-pasted a macro, I've built them all up from scratch, using examples on WoWWiki and Dual-Boxing wiki as templates only. As such you can imagine I'm always finding ways of making them better. Getting new addons, reconfiguring existing ones and so on. Each new spell requires a new macro too.

People levellng their first set of multiboxed characters are likely to be in the same boat as me, so I suppose I'm more interested in hearing from those people who have been doing this for a while.

So, is your system complete, or is it always evolving into something better?

P.S. I realise there is a macros and addons section of the forums, I thought this would be more appropriate in General Discussion, given that it has little focus on any SPECIFIC macros or addons. If the powers that be feel otherwise, I will bear no grudge to the person who relocates this thread.
Stopped multiboxing to experience raid content with friends.
    Was 2-boxing warlocks until Wrath.
    Regularly lurks, very occasionally posts.

After about a month of playing, my macro set "feels" stable/good to me. My characters are at level 49 now, so I'll probably have some minor changes and restructuring later when I gain new spells/abilities.

Here's my current (slightly outdated) macro set:

There is always something I want to change, improve add etc.

I get so little time to play that unless I hit a wall with a function I tend to put it on the list and muddle through. Although using trinity does mke my life a lot easier as I just edit the macro on the button directly.

In wow I'm in the same boat as you, but I played eq1 from 2000 until very recently, and boxed from about 2001 on, and my setup never stayed stagnant for more than a month or two over that whole period of time. But it was ususally relatively minor tweaks/experimentation. sometimes I flipped back and forth among things heh. I reprogrammed my nostromo so many times for that game...

I have done some UI reworking during my time as a multiboxer. I usually start from scratch when I start rebuilding my UI. (often after a new major patch has come live) When I restart my UI building I often use 10-12 hours before I am 100% satisfied with my new UI/mods/macros, so I try not do that too often.

I have never been into the whole mods and tinkering with your UI.

I just never really seen a point. I used to use the mod that showed you your enemies casting bar, but they put that in game as a regular function.

Now I only use 2 mods, LootFilter and QuestHelper.

So my WoW window basically looks pretty standard.

I only BG and arena, I dont pve besides xping up to 70, and I just havent found mods a necessity.
(on that note if anyone has a mod that they think would help me in pvp/arena, pls link)

You can multibox fairly good without any special use of mods. However there is a few reasons that I have modded my UI:

    - I use a 30" screen for my main. This will cover ALOT of your field of view. Therefor I have moved and resized my unit frames so I can get a better overview of my group for quick responding.
    - I have mod let me see castbars of my followers
    - I have mod that let me more easly target enemy targets while in chaotic fights (to pick out aoe classes etc)
    - I use Trinity bars since it gives me unlimited amount of macros, and extended size of each macro.
    - I use mods for relaying whispers from my followers to better keep track of them.
    - I use a bagmod for sorting and keeping track of my inventory (because the ingame system just suck )
    - I use auctioneer to cut my time spent at AH ALOT

Guess there is a few more mods that I havent mentioned. Its perfectly viable to multibox without mods, but some mods make life alot easier IMO, and you save time spent on things you dont really want to be doing.

I'm an addon addict. I run about 150mb of addons on my main. I can't do the same on my 5x setup due to the limited screen size and memory.

I have tweaked my UI/Macros/Addons 3+ times since I started and each time it take a while to get it working right. I think I will have to rebuild my UI at 70 and streamline a few macros. I'm hoping to add another monitor and upgrade my cpu and graphic to handle it.

It's never complete... new patches of WoW might break some mods, so I need to find replacements...

Hardware, got a new 24" widescreen monitor... added another computer to my desk solely as a internet browser/media player computer.

Macros, they change as I level... and then change a little more here and there.

My first set-up as far as mods go (which I am still mainly using) is so bulky that I have started a completely new WoW folder and begun from scratch and only added things to it as I need it.

It got to the point that every new patch would take about two hours to get up and running again... and the major patches I could be down for a couple days.

So rather than growing my play style I have been trying to shrink it... which, IMO, is improving it. My frame rate is thanking me that is for sure.
