    1.) Create account
    2.) Study wiki/stickies/relevant posts
    3.) Take [url='www.d-b.com
    www.dual-boxing.com[/url] quiz to activate account
4.) If pass, allow posting. If fail, require re-quizzing.

Sample questions include: "Create a macro to cast the spell Fireball at the current target of your character's focus", "List three ways one can send the same keypress to multiple clients", "State why it is important to be the real account owner of all multi-boxed accounts", etc...

    True... true...

Maybe I should just give up my (un)holy crusade about keeping a nice and clean forum. I'm not talking about censorship - just organization.
Anytime I send someone here, I make sure to advise them to read the forums for a while and search for their answers before they start posting. A week or two of browsing and reading can help you find the topics that you would otherwise start, which just clutters the forum. Worse still, people who have been helpful in the past may get tired of answering the same topics over and over and ignore people with new questions.

And yes, I did say one or two weeks. I can be as impatient as anyone about getting started with something that seems fun and exciting, but I still make sure to search out information on my own before asking for more help. That way, when I finally do decide to ask for help, I have specific questions that are easier to answer, and the answers are easier to understand because I've gotten some background information from all the reading I've done. Makes it more efficient for the person asking questions, and more fun/less aggravating for the people helping you.

I would definitely cut some slack to anyone who goes to the beginner's forum first. I'd be less patient with someone who posts beginner questions in any other forum, as it indicates that they did not even look at the forum list before diving in (or that they did and decided not to follow the obvious path anyway). That gives me the impression that they won't listen to what I'm offering or won't understand it, and I'm less inclined to offer help.

There are lots of people here who want to help newcomers to multiboxing, and they have a lot of knowledge of pretty much every aspect of it. Make it worth their while to help you, and they'll make it worth your while to ask.

Well, I can give you a newcomer's perspective... things are not THAT difficult to find here. The wiki and the stickies are good. When you couple those with the very rapid response that you receive to specific questions there's really no excuse for not being able to figure things out....
