Thread: DoT macro....

    Default DoT macro....

I have 1 button set aside for my DoTs for my 3 locks and my priest. The warlock one works perfectly. I guess the priest one is too but it's not what I want. This what I have for the warlocks on button 2 and line 2 is on the priosts macro for #2.

/Castsequence reset=combat Corruption, Curse of Agony

    /Castsequence Reset=combat Shadow Word: Pain

Now what happens, is I press #2 twice Warlock DoTs apply, but problem is I'm re-applying SW:P as well. I've been trying a couple things to do a reset on it so I'm not spamming it but can't seem to do so.

    /castsequence Reset=6 Shadow Word: Pain

Now, unless I completely misunderstood, the reset=6 would give me 6 seconds between keypresses so I'm not spamming it right? It doesn't seem to be working out that way.

You can use dummies to line up macros or to force reset times.

    To line up:

    /castsequence [blah, blah] Spell 1, , Spell 3, , Spell 5, Spell 6

    /castsequence [blah, blah] , Spell 2, , Spell 4, , Spell 6

    To force resets:

    /castsequence [blah, blah, blah] reset=13 Spell 1, Spell 2, , , , , , , , , , , , ,

No matter how much you spam it, it will stall after the last spell until 13 secs. (Okay, if you spam it like 100 times, it will restart, but you get the idea.)

    I have done some testing with this "commatrick" lately. And I have some problems with it. I use this macro to cast shadow word: pain;

    /castsequence reset=target/combat shadow word: pain, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

This works fine, but I would prefer having some macros reset on a set number of seconds. Especially some of my warlock spells, like hellfire. BUT, when i use seconds it won't reset properly if the time is up when the macro sequence is between two commas. Have anyone else encountered this problem? and have you found a way around it? For now i just use target/combat for the macros that require commas. But for the other ones, reset=(seconds) works fine.

    /castsequence Reset=6 Shadow Word: Pain,,,,,,

Seems to work just fine. The commas are what did it. Thanks. Funny thing is I cant get the same thing to work for the paladin Seal of Righteousness (lol, really ticking me off.)

I ended up just moving it to an unused button for now.

Maybe a dumb question, but is your priest not shadow or is he a low lever perhaps? VE or VT would be pro here in lieu of a dummy or pause. I ask because of the obvious benefits of a shadow priest with 3 warlocks.

Shadow so far. Only level 15 though. At this levels, spamming SW:P gets me out of mana too fast. (Same issue w/ the paladin so I dumped her button.) But yeah, once I do have the additional DoT on the SP I'll go ahead and remove the commas but for the moment need to conserve mana. (Wiped on my first pull in DM when I went OOM from the spamming.......tank gear was garbage too and Id imagine that played a role too, (because it couln't possibly how I pulled/my strat was bad.)
