As it's not going to be possible for me to raid much I've decided that I'm going to 3 box my current 70's in BG's (I've expanded on my original concept of just running them as a group for dailies)
It's an odd mix - an affliction warlock, a Beast Mastery hunter and an elemental shaman, but in theory I think they might complement each other quite well.
It is going to be problematic setting it up - but I've figured out the basic damage dealing, and the dropping of totems and traps.I'll also work out some healing macros that I can heal who i want with modifiers etc. (and of course will be able to drop my elemental at will)
The weakness of the shaman is that he has no real cc, the weakness of the lock is he's a clothy and as affliction wears the opponent down more than burst damage (although shadowburn, deathcoil and searing pain are nice), and the hunter's only flaw is he has no healing ability.
I think each class adds to the other - so the shaman can help heal the lock and the hunter and provide excellent buffs for mana and spell power, the lock can instant howl of terror, fear and death coil for a bit of cc, and the hunter can do a bit of freezing trap, frost trap and snake trap.
I'm going to have the warlock as the lead , as he requires the most mobility, but I will need to be aware of my positioning so my shaman and hunter can help me out.
What do you think? Perhaps I should respec the lock to demonology, or even to destruction, as it might just be better not to be as mobile as my usual build.
What experiences does anyone have of running three different ranged DPS'ers ( if any).
Would anyone be interested in updates on this unusual combo?
