Bush's War - Excellent Documentary...

Hi guys,

I'm not one to normally flog documentaries, but while I was O/S and kicking back in my hotel room, I came accross this excellent piece. Some of you may have seen it before (since it aired in the US earlier this year I think?), but it give's an amazing insight into the politics behind the Iraq war and the war on terror in general. Thoroughly well researched, and many interviews with those actually involved in the events that led up to and after commencement of the war makes it compelling viewing.

PBS makes it, it's probably a left-wing one-sided Bush bash.

Frontline has a ton off good documentaries on their website. The majority of other PBS programs don't have online content of that size. Bush's War was good, but I hope to see a continuation.

whoa... did they interview the clintons as ask why they did nothing every time we were hit throughout the 90s?

nah, i doubt it... after all, what could they have done to cause/prevent 9/11...

Clinton was in for EIGHT years, we had the 1993 attempt on the twin towers, Clinton fires off a couple of token rockets "somewhere in the vicinity of a Al Queada training camp" with a good 48 hours notice to the camp.

A country OFFERS us Bin Laden, says..."We have Bin Laden, he's a DANGER to the US, do you want him?" Clinton camp says "Nah...THERE IS NO TERRORIST THREAT"

Word of advice....STOP watching PBS if you want the truth, rather than some biased left-wing junk.

When I was in my 20's I was an idiot too.
I AUTOMATICALLY hated President Reagen, because .....well, just because. I had NO CLUE about politics at that age, I just hated the "establishment" and the President because in your 20's it's the "cool" thing to do.
I defended Bill CLITon too, until I was enlightened on what a power hungry letch he actually was.
Then I grew up, and started actually paying attention to politics, now I can safely say, if I choose to hate a President, it's because I'm well informed on his policies.

You Cum-Ba-Ya liberals are fooling yourselves if you think we can get a Dem president in office and this whole "Terrorism" stuff is going to go away overnight.

Heh, I was going to say the same thing. As someone outside the US with no allegiance to either political party, I thought it did a good job of covering the events without bias.

The doco actually presents Bush in good light - as in a person who makes decisions based on the information available to him and the advice from the cabinet heads. It focuses more on the power plays and agendas pushed by the govt depts - CIA, State Dept, DoD, and how that shaped govt policy. It doesn't look at events leading up to 9/11, but events on the day and aftwards.

One of the great things about watching it online is when they cover an event, or do an interview, a button pops up with links to more information, transcripts of whole interviews etc.
