Default Line spread, almost perfect but one small issue....

OK, have been going through creating different spreads today and really wanted to get a straight-line spread happening easily as I still haven't seen one here and the way Veronika does it in her MgT video is what I'm after.

On my way back from the shops I started thinking about a post made previously where it was talked about having to use walk as a way of doing it but having to take two steps and not expanded on past there and it occured to me...what would happen if I unbound the walk toggle on 2 characters and left it enabled on two others, would the ones without the keybinding still move when the toggle was placed.

Having just tested it I can say that it works, and works perfectly to acheive a straight line as desired with main character not moved from where they are (could play round further if you run 5 shaman and want all of them in the line) but there is one problem, it's still two keypresses and I'm fairly certain that using a g15 or n52 macro to press down walk toggle and then the spread key would be illegal (and fairly usless too since every time you pressed the key it would toggle walk on/off and the spread would be weird).

Anyway, I'll post direction here as it's still very useful for use during boss encounters where you have the time to know you will need it and prepare for it's use.

    1. Unbind walk toggle (default is num-/) from the two characters you want to be on the furtherst edges of the line
    2. Bind left arrow to strafe left on the two characters you want to go left, and right on the two you want to go right
    3. Bind right arrow to strafe right on the two characters you originally set left arrow to left strafe on, and left on the other two

    That's it

Now, when you want to do a straight line spread you just hit num-/ to toggle walk on for the innermost characters and then press left arrow to spread them, right arrow to move them closer together. If you turn your main character around you'll see the other 4 in a nicely spread, stright line for your use and abuse...enjoy and if there are any suggestions for wording this a little better (assuming people have trouble understanding it) feel free.

You Lose a few things doing it this way. You won't have any way to spin everybody around for one. I use WASD to move my leader and if the mob moves out of line of sight, I use the arrow keys to spin my helpers to face them.

I bound my num pad keys (because they are useless) to totems and to my line set up. My 7 key moves toon 1 and 2 strafe left/right. My 9 key moves toon 3 and 4 strafe left/right. When everyone is bunched up, Hold 7 and 9 on keypad but let go of 7 a smidge earlier than 9. Bingo, nice straight line and I don't lose my arrow key functions!

I like this method, it is sound. How you bind the keys is up to the individual. Thankfully blizz gives up the ability to remap everything. Those of us with xkeys or similar would bind these next to each other for faster formations. Also, I use wasd for the leader and let the arrows pass through to move the clones.
