    Default Problem when leader controlled

Hey everyone, I have been learning from this site for a week or 2 now and have lvled 5 shamans to 44 now =)
thanks to everyone on this site that made this possible for me as it has been the best fun I have ever had in wow!

Anyway, im doing ZF atm and some of the mobs have an hex ability. When they use this on my leader and I want the slaves to throw lightning bolts at my leaders target while he cced, I get an "invalid target" message on the slaves and I cant switch target for my slaves to nuke while im hexed. Only if the team was already nuking 1 target before I get hexed, and they have to nuke that same target still, then it still works and they just continue to throw lightning bolts at the target.

so I guess the point is that I cant change my slaves target while my leader is cced.

    My lightning bolt macro:
    /assist [target=focus, exists]
    /cast Lightning Bolt

I run a macro for each slave so I can change focus in the middle of a battle if need be.

    /focus slavename

Then if one dies I can switch focus and keep going.....

In your macro, your target is trying to target your FOCUS. now if you have a focus set to one of your shaman they are infact, trying to attack that shaman.
Try to adjust it to target=focustarget which will target the focus target.

I just got through running ZF and didn't have that problem. I can still target when CC'd, with the exception of mind control. What macro are you using for assist?
    Now playing: WoW (Garona)

I am not really using an assist macro, I just put assist focus in every attack macro that needs it like LB, CL, shocks etc.
I can switch focus when my leader dies and let the rest follow the new leader, that is not the problem.
Only when I am cc'd I cant get my alts to attack a different target causing me to do nothing for 6 seconds.
I think my lightning bolt macro is correct and assists the focus target, if not enlighten me please :P

    so for example:
    1. My team is nuking XXX target
    2. My leader gets hexed
    3. my alts continue to attack the shadowhunter till its dead
    4. when the shadowhunter is dead, and the leader is still cc'd, my alts are unable to switch to a new nuke target while my main is still hexed.

    Thanks for the help!

What is the exact macro that you are using?

If you are using assist focus for every attack macro, and you can switch focus... then you should be fine.

Switch focus to another toon for all the other toons. Start attacking that the new focused toon. Continue using the attack macros that are using assist focus for the other toons.

    Ok here are my macros

    Follow macro:
    /target [target=Xorf, nodead]; [target=Eorf, nodead]; [target=Corf, nodead]; [target=Aorf, nodead]; [target=Xorf]
    /follow

    Focus macro:
    /clearfocus
    /focus leader
    /stopmacro [target=focus, exists,nodead]
    /focus slave1
    /stopmacro [target=focus, exists,nodead]
    /focus slave2
    /stopmacro [target=focus, exists, nodead]
    /focus slave3

    Lightning bolt:
    /assist [target=focus, exists]
    /cast Lightning Bolt

(All attack macros are like the LB one)

So are you saying that when my leader gets hexed, I should switch to my slave and let him lead while my leader is CC'ed?
My current macros wouldn't do that and I dont think thats a good solution, it would take too much time I think.
